Shivaji University offers various PG courses, Master of Technology (M.Tech) and Master of Law (LL.M.) provide top-notch knowledge about technology and law respectively. These courses are preferred by those students who are enthusiastic about gaining knowledge in respective fields.

For M.Tech, the selection is made on the basis of valid GATE score. If seats remain vacant in the M.Tech program then, admission will be taken on the basis of an entrance test followed by an interview. For the M.Tech course, candidates are required to possess a degree in B. Tech/B.E. or M.Sc. in the relevant subject to meet the eligibility criteria.

Admission to the LL.M. program is made on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the University. Application form for LL.M. is available in the month of April, merit and further admission process is to be conducted in the month of June. Apart from the government regulations, the university also has the provision to provide scholarship to deserving candidates.

  • Female/Reserved Category Candidates: INR. 750/-
  • Other Candidates: INR. 1500/-

For LL.M. = INR. 300/-

How To Apply

For M.Tech program, the selection is made on the basis of GATE score.

To apply for GATE candidates are required to visit the GATE website and apply for the test. On the website, candidates are required to register themselves for applying the application form, after registration, they will be provided with a unique user name and password helping in the future.

The application fee is INR 750/- for women and reserved category candidates and INR 1500/- for other candidates.

For M.Tech in Rural Tech, the candidates will have to appear for the entrance test conducted by the university. To apply for the same the candidates must follow the below-mentioned steps.

Admission Eligibility

For M.Tech.

  • B.E., B.Tech, M.Sc with minimum 50% for Open category and 45% for reserved category

NOTE: If candidates hold an M.Sc. degree in the respective specialization then, they such candidates are also eligible for the M.Tech programme.

The number of seats:

In each specialization of the M.Tech programme, there are 18 seats on which admission is to be made by the University.

Eligibility criteria for various other courses:

MBAAny Graduate with minimum 50% for Open category and 45% for reserved category
MCAAny Graduate with minimum 50% for Open category and 45% for reserved category, 12th or Graduate Subject is Maths
MSWAny Graduate with minimum 50% for Open category and 45% for reserved category
MRSAny Graduate with minimum 50% for Open category and 45% for reserved category

Admission Process

For M.Tech program, the selection is made on the basis of GATE score. If seats have remained vacant in any specialization of the M.Tech program then, an entrance test will be conducted by the University for selecting candidates.

Those candidates who’ll qualify the entrance test are required to appear in an interview conducted by the University.

For selection to the MBA program, candidates are required to appear for a state-level common entrance test.

  • MAH-MBA/MMS-CET is an online test of 200 marks and the duration for the test is 150 minutes.

For most of the other courses (LLM/M.A./M.Sc), admission will be granted on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the University.

Centre for the entrance test can be allotted in Kolhapur, Satara, and Sangli. Candidates can select the test center according to their convenience and the allotment of the same depends upon availability.

Once the merit list is released by the University, candidates can apply for scrutinizing the result, once the discrepancies (if any) are resolved by the University then a final merit list will be released and admissions will be done as per the ranking.

Those candidates who get selected are required to appear to the concerned department along with the course fee to confirm their admission. 

User facts:

  • Candidates are required to appear with valid ID proof along with the admit card to the examination center, failing which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam.
  • Answers in the OMR sheet is to be made by black ballpoint pen only.
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in the entrance test and qualifying exam. 50% weightage to both aspects will be given for preparing the merit list.

The selection process will be administered by the admission committee, where the committee will prepare a merit list as per the rank secured by the candidate in the Entrance exam.

In case there are two or more students with the same marks, the following criteria shall serve as a tie-breaker:

  • The total marks obtained by these students at Part-I, II, and III Examination shall be considered.
  • Marks secured by the students in the second year examination in the same subject shall be considered.


Apart from the different schemes for scholarships provided by the government authorities, University has its own provision to provide scholarship to deserving candidates. 

University releases about 500 scholarships of INR. 5000/- and INR 10000/- which is given to deserving candidates enrolled with the University under the scheme of Shivaji University Merit Scholarship Scheme (SUMS).
