MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS) was established in 1956 under UGC Act and Accredited by NAAC. It is run by Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust, along with a chain of several other colleges spread around the country providing quality education in multiple streams such as Engineering, Medical, Nursing, Management, Science, Journalism and Fine Arts. MGM School of Physiotherapy was established in 2008, when the first batch of students was admitted to BPT programme.

The universityoffers the following courses at undergraduate (UG) level to its students:

  • B.Sc. Nursing – (4 years)
  • Post-Basic (PB) B.Sc. Nursing – (2 years)
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) – (4½ years)

Admission to the abovementionedprogrammes is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the university entrance test. Candidates can register themselves for admission by submitting completed applications, along with the registration and entrance examination fee of Rs. 500/- on or before the last date.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc (Nursing)

B.Sc. Nursing – (50 seats in MGM College, Navi Mumbai):

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with science (PSB) and English Core/ English Elective with 45% of aggregate marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or equivalent Board (OR) 

Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination in science subjects with 45% marks by national institute of open school

  • For SC/ST candidates, there is 5% relaxation in the minimum required aggregate
  • Candidate should be minimum 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing – (30 seats in MGM College, Navi Mumbai):

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must have passed higher secondary/ senior secondary/ intermediate/ 10+2/equivalent examination from recognized board
  • Candidate must register as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council in case of General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.)
  • Foreign nursing recognized from Indian Nursing Council will be considered as equivalent in case of G.N.M. from foreign countries

Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  • Candidate must pass in examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate established by State Government/Central Government and 2 years recognized pre-university examination by Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences, with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with minimum 50% of marks
  • Candidate must have passed in Common Entrance Test held by MGMIHS with minimum 50% marks
  • Candidate must possess certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized medical officer


How to Apply

B.Sc (Nursing) & Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  • Candidate can register themselves by filling online application form available on the official university website 
  • Along with completed applications, candidate must submit the application fee amount of Rs. 500/- through DD in favour of 'MGM Institute of Health Sciences', and payable at Mumbai. If the candidate is late by one week, he/she has to submit the application form with the late fee of Rs. 1500/-
  • At the time of admssion, candidates must submit the original supporting documents along with two sets of attested photocopy of the enclosures
  • Completed applications, in all respects, along with the fee and documents should be sent to the following postal correspondence address:

Admission Process

Selection of the candidates will be based on the marks scored in MGM Common Entrance Test conducted by the university.

Hi Amarapali, You must have passed 10+2 examination with science (PSB) and English Core/ English Elective with 45% of aggregate marks from the recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or equivalent Board, so according to that you can get admission in this college.

The registration date is 01st May - 15th Jul 2018 and Entrance Exam date for this course is 30th Jul 2018
