Mumbai University M.Sc and MCA Admissions 2020: Dates, Admission Procedure, Application Form

Mumbai University invites application for admission to the M.Sc., M.Sc. (Integrated) and MCA Programmes in both online and offline formats. Admission to M.Sc. is based on merit. For Integrated M.Sc., admissions are granted through the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST). MAH-MCA-CET (Maharashtra MCA Common Entrance Test) is the basis for MCA admissions.

Mumbai University (MU)  offers Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programme. The duration of this program is 2 years and the program is offered under the Faculty of Science and in various Affiliated Colleges of MU. The University also offers an Integrated M.Sc. Programme for admission right after 10+2 level which is a 5-year course. The Master in Computer Application (MCA) Programme offered by the University is a two-year course. Check Mumbai University Admission

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate seeking admission to M.Sc should hold a Bachelor Degree in Science from the University of Mumbai or equivalent degree of any other university recognized as equivalent thereto with one of the corresponding subject as major subject.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates is strictly based on merit. However, University has specified a criterion, which is as follows:

For Mumbai University students:

  • Candidates should have been declared in First Class and above without grace marks with as a single major subject out of 600 (Semester V & VI of B.Sc.).
  • The CGPA will be considered if the marks are equal
  • If you have been declared passed in First Class with grace marks / Second Class with as a single major subject out of 600. (Semester V & VI of B.Sc.).
  • In case there is a tie in the above, aggregate marks without grace marks out of 800 will be considered and marks in theory out of 400 without grace marks will be considered.

Students from Other Universities:

The marks listed at Bachelor’s level examination will be considered for preparing the merit list as per quota available for other University students.

How To Apply?

Application form for the courses offered by the University can be filled in both online and offline mode. The duly filled form along with required documents and application fee must be submitted in person before the last date of registration to the following address:

Application Fee: An application fee of INR 100 is to be paid in cash from 11 am to 1 pm and 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm on weekdays except for Second and Fourth Saturdays.

Hi Anil, There is an entrance test which is the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST). Admission to the M.Sc course is based on the valid score in (NEST).

Hi Vrunali, general candidates can apply for the course till the age of 20 years while for reserved categories, it has been extended till 25. Along with this, candidate must have scored 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) in their graduation. If you satisfy above mentioned criteria, then only you are eligible, else not. However, admission process is both offline as well as online whichever is convenient to the students.

Hi Anil, only those students who have scored 60% (55% for reserved categories) in their graduation degree will be considered eligible for the course. Thus, you are eligible to apply. However, admission will be done on the basis of score in MAH-CET conducted by the university.

Hi Shefali, Students have not to be come to submit the documents they can submit by online by posting multiple copies of their documents.
