Thiruvalluvar University Distance Education UG and PG Admission 2019: Dates, Eligibility, Application Dates

Thiruvallavur University offers distance education via the Thiruvallavur Institute of Distance Education (TIDE). It offers admissions in various courses of Undergraduate in 12 specializations and 8 Postgraduate programs. TIDE also offers one-year postgraduate diplomas in 3 courses and 6 months diploma certification in two courses. 

Candidates who have completed 10+2 in relevant subjects are eligible for undergraduate programs. The candidates who have completed graduation in the relevant subject can apply for admission to the postgraduate programs.

The undergraduate programs are offered for a period of 3 years while the postgraduate programs are offered for a given period of 2 years. Candidates can get the application form through the post with a demand draft of Rs. 100 in favour of The Director, Thiruvalluvar Institute of Distance Education, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore that should be payable at Vellore. MA

Eligibility Criteria for MA courses is as follows:

MA EnglishGraduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

MA EconomicsB.Com./ B.A. Economics/ B.Sc. Computer Science/ BCA from a recognized university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. Degree Examination in Branch-I Mathematics or B.Sc. Applied Sciences of this University or examinations of other Universities accepted as equivalent thereto by this University are eligible for admission.

MBA/PGDM

Candidates who have completed their graduation from regular/distance university in any discipline can apply for MBA. 

BA , B.Com & BCA

Admission to the First Year UG courses is open to the candidates who have passed 10+2 from a recognized board/ NIOS or candidate should have passed the G.C.E. [Advanced Level / Principal Level] with not less than 3 subjects in the „A? Level with ENGLISH in the „O? Level / SUBSIDIARY Level.


How to Apply?

BA , B.Com & BCA

The application for TIDE can be obtained in person from the University office. It can also be obtained by post enclosing a Demand Draft for Rs.150/-and a self-addressed envelope of size 30x24cm and sent to the Director, TIDE, Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. The following documents should be enclosed along with the application form:

  • A recent passport size photograph
  • DD drawn in favour of the Director, TIDE, Thiruvalluvar University payable at Vellore.
  • Attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks, Transfer Certificate and other relevant.
  • Equivalent certificate obtained from the Association of Indian Universities, if the candidate has graduated from a foreign University.
  • A copy of the certificate as evidence for the date of birth and community, Transfer Certificate (TC).
  • A self-addressed stamped acknowledgment card.

For spot admission the candidate is required to submit a duly filled in application form with all relevant certificates in original, their photocopies, Demand Draft for the course fee in full or its first installment at any one of the spot admission centres and get admitted to their respective courses. 


Selection Process

BA , MA & BBA/BBM

Students can get admission in distance courses in Thiruvalluvar University by filling the application form. The university does not conduct any entrance test for this.
