Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is a deemed university imparting professional education, research and training in various fields such as medical, dental and paramedical. Degree, diploma and certificates awarded by the University have approval of Government of India, Government of Maharashtra and other states as well.

Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences has six constituent colleges which offer various under graduate, post graduate and doctoral level programs. The university offers the following postgraduate (PG) programmes in medical and dental stream to its students every year:

Only candidates with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned programmes. Seats are not reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/BC etc.

Admission of candidates to the above mentioned PG programmes is done on the basis of their performance in entrance examination (AICET-PG), to be conducted by the university admission committee. Candidates can register for admission to the PG programme by filling-in the online application form and submitting it along with the required processing fee.

Eligibility Criteria

The university offers MD programme under the following disciplines:

  1. General Medicine – 6 seats
  2. Paediatrics – 4 seats
  3. Obstetrics & Gynaecology – 4 seats
  4. Radio Diagnosis – 3 seats
  5. Anaesthesiology – 3 seats
  6. Radio Therapy – 1 seat
  7. Anatomy – 1 seat
  8. Physiology – 2 seat
  9. Pathology – 2 seat
  10. Pharmacology – 1 seat
  11. Microbiology – 1 seat
  12. Forensic Medicine & Toxicology – 1 seat
  13. Preventive & Social Medicine – 1 seat

All the above mentioned 13 disciplines under MD programme have the following eligibility criteria:


  • Candidate must possess MBBS/ BDS degree from a MCI/ DCI recognized university
  • Candidate should have completed 1 year internship on to appear for PIMS-AICET-PG.
  • Candidate who have completed PG diploma in medicine are also eligible for admission
  • Candidate should submit the documentary proof from principal/dean of the college regarding completion of internship along with manual application form
  • Candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/DCI or any state council

Selection Process

Selection of the candidate for MD / MS/ MDS course is done through AICET-PG merit which will be conducted by the university admission committee.

Candidates must pass AICET examination conducted by PIMS with minimum 50% aggregate of marks.

Application Process

Candidates can apply for admission through online / offline registration process and submit completed application. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

  • Candidate can purchase the printed application form in person from the university website upon submitting the fee of Rs. 2000/- through demand draft (DD) drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of “Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni” and payable at Pune - Service Branch.
  • Candidates can also download the printed form available at the university office and submit it upon completion along with the entrance fee of Rs. 2500/- through DD. The candidates should write their full name, address and application form number on the reverse side of the demand draft (DD)

50% seats are reserved for general category candidates to which the admission will be done on the basis of their performance in PIMS-AICET-PG .

50% seats are reserved under management quota and candidates can apply for it by submitting applications to “The Registrar, PIMS University” separately. Admission to this category will be made on the basis of PIMS-AICET- PG merit.


Hostel Facility:

International standard separate hostels accomodation will be provided to boys and girls for all the students.
