Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) MBBS and BDS Admissions 2020: Application Process, Merit List, Fees

Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is a deemed  university imparting professional education, research and training in various fields such as medical, dental and paramedical. The university has six constituent colleges and offers various under graduate, post graduate and diploma level programs.

Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences offers admission to the following bachelor degree programmes through the faculty of medicine and faculty of dentistry: 

  • Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery (MBBS)
  • Bachelors of Dental Science (BDS)

Only candidates with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned programmes. Seats are not reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/BC etc. Check Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences Admission

Admission to the UG programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the university entrance examination (AICET-UG). Candidates can register for admission to MBBS / BDS programme by filling-in the online application form and submitting it along with the required processing fee, on or before April 1 (tentative).

Application Process

Candidates can apply for admission through online / offline registration process and submit completed application before April (tentative) along with the late fee of Rs. 2000/-). All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

  • Candidate can purchase the printed application form in person from the university website upon submitting the fee of Rs. 1500/- through demand draft (DD) drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of “Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni” and payable at Pune - Service Branch.
  • Candidates can also download the printed form available at the university office and submit it upon completion along with the entrance fee of Rs. 1700/- through DD. The candidates should write their full name, address and application form number on the reverse side of the demand draft (DD)

  • Candidates can also submit completed applications between April 1 and April 7 (tentative), along with the additional late fees of Rs. 2000/- and the entrance fee

Eligibility Criteria

Duration of the Programme: 4 years and 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship.


  • Candidates should be of Indian origin and must be must be born on or before December 31, 2000
  • Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Course (10+2)/Intermediate/ Pre-degree /Pre-professional/Pre-medical / first, second or third year of B.Sc. examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto from a recognized board/university/college
  • Candidate should have passed qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and English individually. Candidate should have passed with minimum 50% of marks (40% for SC, ST, VJNT & OBC) in all the above subjects taken together and each subject individually
  • Candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination in February/March are also eligible to appear for AICET-UG. However, they must fulfill the eligibility conditions at the time of counselling
  • Candidates qualified (10+2) under a foreign system in India, are required to obtain equivalence certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi) to apply for MBBS / BDS programme

Note: Candidate has to undergo professional training for 1 year for admission under MBBS/BDS programme in case the course content is not as prescribed for 10+2 education structure of the National Committee.


General Category: 85% seats of each course are allocated in this category. The admission to this category will be made on the basis of interest- merit of the candidates at AICET.
FN (Foreign Nationals) / PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) / NRI (Non-Resident Indians) Category: 15% seats of each course are allocated in this category.

Selection Process

Admission to the MBBS / BDS courses is done on the basis of candidate’s performance as per merit in PIMS-AICET-UG 2019.


SC/ST/NT & OBC candidates are required to attach caste verification certificates along with the completed applications.

The candidate must bring original certificates and three sets of attested photocopies of the following documents only at the time of counselling:   

  1. HSC/CBSE/other equivalent mark sheet   
  2. PIMS-AICET- UG Hall Ticket
  3. PIMS-AICET- UG Marks Statement
  4. Medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
  5. Transfer Certificate   
  6. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  7. Certificates for Special categories, if required     
  8. Nativity Certificate if required     
  9. Gap Certificate (if passed 10+2) 
  10.  Migration Certificate
  11.  Photo identity proof (School identity card /Driving licence / Aadhar card etc.)
  12.  AIU equivalence certificate (if studied under foreign system in India)
  13.  Six passport size colour photographs
  14.  Demand Draft of Tuition Fees
