Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) was established on 1st June 1996 in Bangalore by Govt. of Karnataka. It includes all the health science colleges and institutions in Karnataka with a purpose of ensuring proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training and research in modern and Indians systems of medicine.

University  offers  post graduate (PG) programmes in various disciplines mentioned below:

Admission to the abovementionedprogrammes is conducted through merit in the qualifying degree.

Candidates can register themselves by sending a DD of Rs.400/- for general category candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST category candidates for admission in the B.Sc. and B.P.T courses.

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed in 2 years pre university examination with English as one subject and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. Candidates must have to passed in above subject individually also.
  • Candidate shall have passed B.Sc. examination with not less than 2 of the following subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Marks eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination but in case of SC/ST/OBC marks required are 40%.

Age limit eligibility

  • Candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st day of December in the year of admission

B.Sc

Programmes under B.Sc. allied health sciences:

  1. Operation Theatre Technology
  2. Cardiac Care Technology
  3. Perfusion Technology
  4. Neuro Science Technology
  5. Renal Dialysis Technology

Eligibility criteria of the above mentioned programmes is as follows:

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed in 2 years of pre university examination or any equivalent examination recognized by RGUHS of health science with, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principle subjects of study
  • Candidates must possess 2 years diploma from recognized government board and a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as principal subjects.
  • Candidates must have passed pre university examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, as principal subjects in order to take admission in B.Sc. Imaging Technology or B.Sc. Radiotherapy Technology.

BAMS , B.Pharm & B.Sc (Nursing)

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be Indian citizen.
  • Candidates must have studied one or more government institution located in state of Karnataka for a minimum period of seven years from I to II PUC or 12th Standard or SSLC or 10th standard or II PUC or 12th standard.

Age limit eligibility

  • Candidate should have been born on or before December 31, 1997.

 

BHMS

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed in 2 years pre university examination with English as one subject and Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and individually as well.
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. examination with not less than 2 of the following subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat) & Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yoga Science

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed in 2 years pre university examination with English as one subject and Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and individually as well.
  • Candidates must have passed B.Sc. examination with not less than 2 of the following subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Marks eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination but in case of SC/ST/OBC marks required are 40%.

Application Process

MBBS , BDS & B.Sc

  1. Candidates can download application form online from the university website “www.rguhs.ac.in”.
  2. Candidates can submit filled application form in person or by post by submitting the DD of Rs. 400/-for general category candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST category candidates for admission in the B.Sc. and B.P.T courses along with all the attested copies of the documents submitted at

Candidates have to submit photo copies of all the documents attested by Gazetted Officer along with the filled application form.

Enclosures:

  1. S.S.L.C marks card (for proof of Date of Birth).
  2. Marks Card of II-PUC or equivalent examination.
  3. Prescribed certificates in the case of candidates claiming reservation under different categories i.e., category & income certificate issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka only.
  4. Domicile Certificate for 10 years in Karnataka (Issued by the Tahasildar of Karnataka) or Study Certificate of seven years in Karnataka.
  5. Relevant Certificates for those who are claiming exemption for seven years study in Karnataka.
  6. Candidate studied other than Karnataka PUC Board, CBSE Board and ICSC Board should submit the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore without fail.
  7. Attested photocopy of transfer certificate.
  8. Physically fitness certificate.
  9. Study certificate for having studied in Rural/Kannada medium.

Selection Process

MBBS , BDS & BAMS

  • Selection of the candidates is based on the merit in the degree examination.
  • Candidates should be Indian citizens.


Reservation Criteria

  • Candidates who possess at least ‘B’ certificate under NCC obtained during the 5 years of study in Karnataka between VIII to XII
  • Candidates who represented country in international level during and won medals, cups or plates in games during five years period of study in Karnataka between VIII to XII standards
  • Candidates who represented Karnataka in any sports or games and won medals, cups or plates during five years period of study in Karnataka between VIII to XII standards
  • Candidates who received the “President Award” during the five year period and won medals, cups or plates in games during five years period of study in Karnataka between VIII to XII standards
