D.Y. Patil VidyaPeeth (DYPV), Pune is a deemed university, located in Maharashtra, imparting professional education in different fields such as medical, dental, engineering, paramedical and management. The university has 6 constituent colleges which offers various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and research programmes to its students.

University takes admission in MDS for 49 seats. It is a 3 year programme. Students holding one year internship with BDS degree can apply for the programme. Students can even apply through

D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth offers Master of Dental Sciences (MDS) course at the postgraduate (PG) level in the field of dentistry in the following disciplines:

  • Oral Pathology & Microbiology
  • Oral Medicine & Radiology

How to Apply

  • Students holding a degree in BDS from any recognised university, with one year internship can apply for the admission
  • Students with NEET PG score can apply for common counselling of NEET PG.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Courses offered under MDS:

    1. Oral Pathology & Microbiology
    2. Oral Medicine & Radiology


    • Candidate must possess BDS examination degree from recognized dental college
    • Candidate should have obtained final registration from the Dental council of India or from any state dental council upon completion of one year compulsory rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2019 (tentative)
    • Candidates who is yet to complete their internship should submit the concerned certificate from Principal / Dean of the College, regarding the likely date of completion of the internship.
    • Student must have qualified NEET PG Test. 
    • NRI / PIO / FN candidates must possess dental qualification recognized by dental council of India. Such students must obtain registration of Dental Council of India before joining

    Admission Process

    • Selection of the candidates of Indian origin will be based on their merit in the NEET PG. 
    • NBE conducts NEET PG exam in January every year
    • Students can choose to be a part of common counselling by visiting

    • BDS Degree/Passing Certificate
    • Internship Completion Certificate
    • Registration Certificate (DCI/State DC)
    • Proof of Date of Birth
    • Minimum 5 copies of photograph
    • The duration of the post-graduation Course is 3 years.
    • Migration Certificate
    • Gap Certificate Affidavit (If applicable)
    • Photo IDs (Bring any one original at the time of counselling) – Pan Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID , Passport
