Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences is a public university which was established in 1986. University offers graduate and postgraduate degrees, diploma and super-specialty courses in modern medicine, dental surgery etc. University offers Ph.D course in two modes i.e. full time & part time. Candidates can get direct admission to the Ph.D programme by submitting the fee of INR 5000/- along with application through DD.  University offers various programmes at research level as discussed.

Eligibility Criteria

M.Phil/Ph.D in Pharmacy

Eligibility of Full time Ph.D:

  • Candidate must possess master’s degree (MD, MS, DNB /MDS /MD(Ayur.)/M.Sc(N)/ MPT or MSc-Medical) in any subject allied to Medical Sciences from this university or any other recognized university.
  • Candidate with equivalent master’s degree from any recognized university are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must possess master’s degree from science faculty related to Medical sciences (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Zoology etc.) from this university or any other recognized university
  • Candidate must have studied M.Phil in medical sciences.
  • Candidates completed MBBS with P.G. Diploma recognized by MCI and two papers published in peer reviewed journals are allowed to apply.
  • Candidates who have completed graduation qualification (i.e. MBBS) and two papers published in peer reviewed journals are allowed to apply in basic medical sciences.

Eligibility of Part time Ph.D:

  • Candidates must be working at least for one year in colleges or centres affiliated to Dr. NTR University.
  • Teachers/ Scientists/ Researchers working in State and National Research Institutes/Universities with 5 years of experience are also eligible to apply.

Application Process

M.Phil/Ph.D in Pharmacy

  • Candidates can obtain the application form from the university or can downlaod it from the website of the university.
  • For admission in the Ph.D candidate shall have to submit an outline proposal of the research with in given time limit.
  • Candidates can register themselves to the above mentioned courses by submitting the fee of INR5000/- along with application & DD in favour of the ‘Registrar, Dr. NTR UHS payable at Vijayawada’ through any nationalized bank and two passport size photographs along with the attested copies of academic credentials.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of the application form and incomplete application forms will be rejected
  • Candidates must have to submit the application form and all the enclosures to the following address:

  1. Educational Qualifications (Undergraduate, Post graduate etc.)
  2. Date of Birth Proof
  3. Service Certificate
  4. Enclose detailed plan of research with time frame
  5. Ethical Clearance Certificate
  6. Letter issued by Dr. NTR UHS recognizing the Guide
  7. Letter issued by Dr. NTR UHS recognizing the Ph.D. Centre
  8. For project approved by the committee and requiring Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) approvals will not be permitted to proceed with the Research unless the CTRI approval is furnished by the candidate.
