Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri is the Agricultural University provides services to Agricultural sector through Education, Research and Extension Education. MPKV has 2 faculties namely Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering which offer undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes.
MPKV offers the following Postgraduate courses in several disciplines:
Master of Science (M.Sc.) - (3 disciplines)
Master of Technology (M.Tech.)
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)
Admission to the above-mentioned programmes is done through merit in the qualifying examination and common entrance test. M.Sc. is offered in the following 3 disciplines:
1. Agriculture – (885 seats)
Candidate must possess degree in B.Sc. (Agri.) / B.B.A. (Agri) / B.Sc. (ABM) / B.Sc. (BBM) / B.Sc. (Agri. Bio-Tech.) / B.Tech. (Agri.Engg) / B.Sc. (Horticulture / B.Sc. (Forestry) / B.Tech. (Food Tech) / B.Sc. (Honours) Home Science or equivalent degree with 4 years duration of Agriculture University.
Candidate must have passed the Common Entrance Test in Agriculture faculty conducted by MAUEB, Pune with minimum of 5.5 CGPA.
2. Horticulture – (116 seats)
Candidate must possess a degree in B.Sc. (Agri.)/B.Sc. (Horticulture)/B.Sc. (Forestry) or equivalent degree with 4 years duration of Agriculture University
Candidate must pass in Common Entrance Test in Horticulture faculty conducted by MAUEB with minimum 5.5 CGPA
3. Agriculture Bio-Technology – (32 seats)
Candidate must possess a degree in B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Agri. Bio-Tech.) / B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Forestry) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (Food Tech.) Or equivalent degree with 4 years duration of Agriculture University.
Candidate must pass in Common Entrance Test in Agriculture Bio-Technology faculty conducted by MAUEB with minimum of 5.5 CGPA.
Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Agricultural Engineering)
Candidate must possess degree in B.Tech. (Agri. Engg) or equivalent degree with 4 years duration of Agriculture University.
Candidate should pass in Common Entrance Test in Agriculture Engineering faculty conducted by MAUEB with minimum 5.5 CGPA.
How to Apply
M.Sc (Agriculture) & ME/M.Tech
Candidates must apply for admission through online registration process from the official website and submit the applications before August 13 (tentative).
All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.
Candidate should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:
In the ‘Admissions’ section, click on ‘Online Application’ tab.
Click on ‘Apply Now’ button and fill in the application form with all the relevant details.
Click on ‘Save’ button if you need to make any changes to the application form or click on ‘Submit’ button
Candidates must submit the registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for reserved category candidates) through Challan in State Bank of India branches or through Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking. Candidates can also submit the fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune.
Candidates should take a printout of the duly filled-in application form and send it along with all the self-attested copies of his/her relevant documents and a recent passport size photograph by Post or by Courier Service to the following address:
Selection of the candidate will be based on the merit in the qualifying examination and performance in the Common Entrance Test conducted by Maharashtra Agriculture University Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune.
25% seats will be reserved for on the basis of All India Entrance Examination conducted by ICAR except M.B.A. (Agri.), M.Sc. (Agricultural Bio-Technology) at Rahuri and Akola.
1 seat is reserved for the in service-candidates and 2% seats are reserved for other state students.
