Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), formerly the University of Pune was founded in 1948. The University is home to 46 academic departments. It has been given the highest “A” rating by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council for its overall performance. The University has now been ranked 3rd in India by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has affiliated colleges, departments, and research institutes, which are primarily in Pune. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.
The university attracts many foreign students due to its excellent facilities. It offers good accommodation facility. There is a provision of hostel for the students. There is a well-stocked library containing plenty of books regarding various subjects. The university offers different scholarships to the students. SPPU invites applications for admission to the Post-Graduate programmes for the academic year. The programmes are in various disciplines ranging through Arts, Science, Technology, Computer Science, Management and Law. The programmes are of 2 years duration except for LLM Programme which is now a one year programme and the two Integrated Programmes of 4 years and 5 years for M.Sc. and M.Tech. Biotechnology respectively. The applications are available online on the University website and must be filled and then sent by post to the respective departments.

For M.Tech. in Computer Science-
GATE Score in any Mathematical Science or any Physical Science or any Engineering discipline valid at the time of admission.
A UGC-CSIR Junior Research Fellowship in Science.
M.Ed. and MJMC-
You should have done your graduation in the same or related discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognised University.

Application Fee: You should pay the application fee given below. Two payment modes are available i.e. Cash (at any branch of HDFC Bank Ltd. or Bank of Maharashtra) or Online Payment through bank transfer. You should select any one of the payment modes suitable to you.

For most of the MA courses, the selection will be done on the basis of merit.
For MA Geography: You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Exam.
For MA Philosophy: If you have no background in Philosophy, you will be selected on the basis of an Entrance/Interview cum presentation. Otherwise, you will be selected on the basis of merit.M.Sc
For M.Sc. Geography and Geology: You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Exam conducted by the respective Departments.
For other courses: You will be selected on the basis of merit.
For Computer Science: You will be selected on the basis of GATE score in Engineering or any Mathematical or Physical Sciences or UGC/CSIR JRF qualification.
For other courses: You will be selected on the basis of Entrance Exam conducted by the respective Departments.MCA
You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Exam conducted by the department of Computer Science.MBA/PGDM
You will be selected on the basis of a Written Test followed by an Interview conducted by PUMBA (Department of Management Sciences).LLM
You will be selected on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by the Faculty of Law.
The question paper shall have 50 multiple choice questions, of 2 marks each carrying a total of 100 marks.
The paper will have 5 sections where each unit carries 10 questions. It will be for a duration of one hour.
