Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University (MAFSU) M.Tech and MVSc Admissions 2019: Courses, Eligibility, Merit List

Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) is one of the pioneer institutes related to Veterinary Research and Extension in Central India. It is a globally recognized institution which specializes in courses related to animal, veterinary, dairy and fishery sciences.

MAFSU offers the following 3 courses at postgraduate level to its students:

  • Master of Veterinary Sciences (M.V.Sc.)
  • Master of Technology (M.Tech.)

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is done through merit in the qualifying examination / GATE scores. Candidate can register themselves for admission to above mentioned PG courses by submitting the application fee of Rs.600/- and Rs. 300/- (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates). Check MAFSU Admission 2019

Eligibility Criteria


Seats available: 8

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Tech. degree with minimum CGPA of 6.60 for unreserved category & 5.60 for reserved category on 10.00 point scale.


Seats available: 216

Eligibility: Candidate must B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree with minimum CGPA of 6.60 for unreserved category & 5.60 for reserved category on 10.00 point scale.

How to Apply

ME/M.Tech & MVSc

  • Candidate can download the application form along with the prospectus from the official university website
  • To apply online, candidates are required to visit the official website and go to the “Apply online” section. Upon filling-in all the required details and uploading documents, photograph and signature, candidate should click on “Submit” button
  • While applying online, candidates have to submit application fee of Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 in case of SC/ST/OBC) online through Net Banking or Credit / Debit Card
  • All category Candidates (including reserved & unreserved) from states other than Maharashtra have to pay application fee of Rs. 600/-

Candidates must submit completed applications along with the following self-attested documents:

  1. Mark sheet /Grade card of qualifying examination
  2. College (Last attended) Leaving Certificate
  3. Bonafide Certificate in case of candidate admitted by ICAR quota
  4. Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  5. Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate
  6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  7. Caste Validity Certificate issued by the Competent Authority
  8. 'Non-Creamy Layer Certificate' issued on or after 1st April or valid upto the date of submission of application form
  9. Certificate of Agriculturist issued by the Tahsildar or Naib Tahsildar
  10. Certificate of ‘Project Affected Person’ issued by the District Resettlement Officer of Government of Maharashtra
  11. A Certificate of the Freedom Fighter of the applicant’s parents issued under the signature of the Honourable Prime Minister / Chief Minister of Maharashtra State
  12. Defence Personnel Certificate from Zilla Sainik Board
  13. ‘No-Objection Certificate’ from the Employer in case of Inservice Candidate
  14. Certificate of Handicapped issued by the Competent Authority (if applicable)

Admission Process

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Dairy Technology)

Selection of the candidatesto the M.Tech programme will be done on the basis of their scores in GATE exam.

Master of Veterinary Science [MVSc]

Selection of the candidates to the MVSc programme will be done on the basis of the merit in the qualifying examination.

Reservation Criteria

  • 70% seats will be reserved of regional quota i.e. (R-Quota) and 30% will be served for state quota i.e. (S-Quota) candidates.
  • 15% of total intake of each Veterinary College shall be filled by Veterinary Council of India (VCI).

Reservation for NRI candidates

  • 10 seats over and above the regular intake are reserved for NRI/FN/PIO candidates.

Hello Dave, For getting Information related admission in B.V.Sc. please read guidelines below:-


  • XIIth Std. passed in 10 2 patterns from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Examination with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English taken together for unreserved category and 47.50% in case of reserved category candidate.
