JNTU Anantapur M.Tech & M.Pharm Admissions 2019: Course, Entrance Exam, Dates,

JNTU Anantapur invites candidates to join their various specializations offered in M.Tech and M.Pharm courses. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is the new name of 'The college of Engineering, Vishakhapatnam' which was established in 1946. It became a constituent college of the university in 1972. JNTU Anantapur started functioning in 2008 from one of its constituent colleges. It is one of the most highly ranked technical universities of the country, coming up with various schemes to provide quality education to the students.

The university holds an entrance test, 'AP PGECET', to select the students for their M.Tech & M.Pharm. courses. The test is multiple-choice and based on English medium. Some specializations of M.Tech are also available as part time courses for the students who are employed in any institution. A bachelor's degree in pharmacy is a pre-requisite for M.Pharm. Course just as B.E./B.Tech,/AMIE degree is essential for M.Tech course. The application forms are available online and are to be submitted online only. The selection of eligible candidates will be based on the rank scored in AP PGECET. The candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech./AMIE or equivalent degree in any branch, or an MSc degree in Chemistry/ Physics/ Biotechnology/ Earth Science/ Electronics/ GeoPhysics/ Geology/ Environmental Science and Technology.

Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Biotechnology)

The candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech./AMIE or equivalent degree in Chemical Engg./ Bio-Technology / Biochemical Engg. / Bio-informatics /Industrial Biotechnology/Food Technology/ Agricultural Engg or And M.Sc. degree in Env. Note: These courses are also available as Part-Time courses. The classes will be taken in JNTUA College of Engineering Anantapur in the evening. This course is for those who are employed in and around Anantapur.

Application Process

ME/M.Tech & M.Pharm

  • Candidates can get the application form from APICET's website.
  • The application form can be obtained and submitted online only. There are no designated centers to provide or accept application forms.
  • After opening the online application portal, the candidates can pay the registration fee of Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 for SC/ST) through one of the two modes: AP Online, or through debit/credit card.
  • AP Online: The candidate can visit any of the  online payment centers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The candidates can pay the fee in these centers and receive a 'Transaction ID'. The candidates can login using this ID and fill and submit their application form.
  • Debit/Credit Card*: In case the candidate wants to use net banking or debit/credit card, he/she can fill the form and then make the payment.
  • After filling the form and uploading the scanned copies of their passport sized photo and signature, the candidates can submit their forms.
  • The candidates are not required to upload any certificate etc., although SC/ST candidates have to bring an attested copy of their caste certificate along with them in the examination hall.

Note: When paying through debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.

  • The candidates can get their forms from the university's website.

  • The following documents are needed along with the form:
    1. Attested copy of Degree Certificate /Provisional Certificate of qualifying Examination
    2. Attested copies of CMM/ all Marks Memos pertaining to the qualifying Examination

    4. Attested copies of all Study Certificates from IV Class to the qualifying Degree
    5. Attested copy of Transfer Certificate from the Institution in which the candidate has last studied

Admission Process

ME/M.Tech & M.Pharm

  • The preference in selection for M.Tech. and M.Pharm. courses is given to GATE qualified students.
  • After the intake of GATE qualified students is over, the remaining vacant seats are allotted on the basis of the rank/marks scored in AP PGECET.
  • Holding a rank alone does not guarantee admission. The candidate has to appear for counselling and must have all documents verified.

Spot Admissions:

  • The vacant seats under category – A, sponsored, and Seer Academy JNTUA will be filled via spot admissions.
  • Spot admissions are for the candidates who have not taken admission in any colleges in AP PGECET allotments.
  • Candidates who have applied or are already in the sponsored category of the university may not apply, but they can take part in the counselling directly by registering at the DOA office.
  • The priority will be: a) GATE/GPAT score, b) AP PGECET rank, and c) Marks in the qualifying degree.
  • For spot admissions, candidates can apply by downloading and filling the application form from the university's website.
  • The candidates have to submit a registration fee of Rs. 1,000/- for each course or college the candidate wishes to fill. The demand draft should be in favor of 'The Registrar, JNTU Anantapur' payable at Anantapur.
  • The candidate also has to submit attested copies of:
    1. Degree, date of birth, service and salary certificates
    2. Valid GATE Score card
    3. PGECET Hall Ticket and Rank Card
    4. Qualifying examination consolidated marks memo, showing the percentage of marks obtained.
  • On the day of counselling, the candidates have to bring the ORIGINAL:
    1. Degree certificate/provisional certificate of qualifying examination
    2. CMM/ all Marks Memos of the qualifying degree
    3. Valid original GATE score card
    4. PGECET Rank card
    5. SSC Certificate
    6. Transfer Certificate from the candidate's previous Institution
    7. Migration Certificate from the candidate's last attended university
    8. Integrated Permanent Community Certificate (for SC/ST)
    9. NOC and Sponsorship certificate from the present employer in the prescribed proforma if not submitted along with the application (if applicable)

Admission Notes

  1. The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the regulations of admission.
  2. The candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
  3. For M.Tech. courses, the candidate must have scored at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) in their qualifying exam.
  4. For M.Pharm. courses, the candidate must have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) in their qualifying exam.

Fee: M.Tech. - Rs. 25,000/- P.A. for general seats and Rs. 50,000/- for sponsored seats

Fee: M.Pharm. - Rs. 45,000/- P.A. for general seats and Rs. 90,000/- for sponsored seats

Note: Part-Time students have to pay Rs. 15,000/- per semester extra. They also have to pay Rs. 7,000 extra during admission.
