JNTU Anantapur B.Tech and B.Pharm Admissions 2019: Course, Entrance Exam, Dates,

JNTU Anantapur invites candidates to join their various specializations offered in M.Tech and M.Pharm courses. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is the new name of 'The college of Engineering, Vishakhapatnam' which was established in 1946. It became a constituent college of the university in 1972. JNTU Anantapur started functioning in 2008 from one of its constituent colleges. It is one of the most highly ranked technical universities of the country, coming up with various schemes to provide quality education to the students.

The university holds an entrance test, 'AP EAMCET', to select the students for their B.Tech., B.Pharm., and Pharm.D. courses. The test is multiple-choice based and has English and Telugu as a medium. Candidates, who studied under Urdu medium can ask for assistance in translation at Kunnoor test center only. The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam. The application forms are available online and are to be submitted online only. The selection of eligible candidates will be based on the rank scored in AP EAMCET. The counselling dates will be announced after the declaration of the result of AP EAMCET.

Eligibility Criteria

BE/B.Tech & B.Pharm

General Eligibility:

  • The candidates should be Indian Nationals or PIO or OCI card holders.
  •  The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the regulations of admission.
  • The candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

For B.Tech. and B.Pharm. courses:

  • The candidate should have completed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as subjects. or The candidate must have completed a Diploma in Engineering or any equivalent exam. And The candidate must have completed 16 years of age as on the 31st of December of the year he/she choses to apply for.


The candidate should have completed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as subjects. and The candidate should have score 45% (40% for reserved categories) marks in the above mentioned subjects together. And The candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st of December of the year he/she choses to apply for.

Application Process

BE/B.Tech & B.Pharm

  • Candidates can get the application form from APICET's website.
  • The application form can be obtained and submitted online only. There are no designated centers to provide or accept application forms.
  • After opening the online application portal, the candidates can pay the registration fee of Rs. 350  through one of the two modes: AP Online, or through debit/credit card.
  • AP Online: The candidate can visit any of the  online payment centers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The candidates can pay the fee in these centers and receive a 'Transaction ID'. The candidates can login using this ID and fill and submit their application form.
  • Debit/Credit Card*: In case the candidate wants to use net banking or debit/credit card, he/she can fill the form and then make the payment.
  • After filling the form, uploading their attested passport size photo, and their signatures, the candidates can submit their forms.
  • The candidates, then, have to take a printout of the form and paste a recent duly attestedpassport sized photograph.
  • The candidates have to carry this form along with them during the day of examination.
  • The candidates are not required to upload any certificate etc., although SC/ST candidates have to bring an attested copy of their caste certificate along with them in the examination hall.

Note: When paying through debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.

Admission Process

BE/B.Tech & B.Pharm

  • The admission is based on the rank obtained by the candidate in EAMCET.
  • The exam committee will make a merit list of candidates which are shortlisted for counselling based on this list.
  • If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the tie will be sorted by:
    1. Comparing the marks scored in Mathematics.
    2. If they are still tied, the marks scored in Physics will be compared.
    3. If they are still tied, the marks scored in their 10+2/equivalent exam will be compared.
    4. If tie remains, the older candidate will be given preference.
  • Merely the name in merit list does not guarantee admission. The candidate has to appear for counselling along with all the necessary documents.
  • The dates for counselling will be available after the declaration of marks of EAMCET.
  • The following documents are to be submitted at the time of counselling:
    1. Hall ticket of Qualifying Examination
    2. Hall ticket of S.S.C. or equivalent
    3. Proof of Date of Birth
    4. Caste certificate
    5. Aadhar card
    6. Any quota certificate
    7. Proof of Income
    8. Proof of local status (last 12 years)

Admission Notes

The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE for admissions to their B.Tech., B.Pharm., and Pharm.D. courses.  The Engineering exam (10 am to 1 pm) consists of 160 multiple choicequestions, which will comprise of 80 questions of mathematics, and 40 questions each of Physics and Chemistry. multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. The test is of 180 minutes (3 hours) duration.

The mode of the examination can be English or Telugu. If any candidate who has studied under Urdu medium, he/she can avail assistance for translation of the examination to Urdu. Such students will be allotted Kurnool as Test Center.
