JNTU Hyderabad M.Tech and M.Pharm Admissions 2020: Courses, Eligibility, Admission Process

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad offers a variety of Postgraduate programs.

Admissions to M.Tech and M.Pharmacy programs is based on GATE/GPAT or PGECET/ICET ranking conducted by Telangana State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad.

Candidates can apply for admission by filling in the online application form available on the university’s official website.

Admission to M.Tech and M.Pharmacy programs is divided into three categories:

Regular StreamAICTE Scholarship / Stipend will be provided to the GATE qualified candidates.
Sponsored CategoryThe candidates must have two years of work experience and must be sponsored by the organization, where he/she is working presently.
Non-sponsored (self-supporting)Preference will be given for GATE and PGECET qualified candidates under the non-sponsored category; however, they are not eligible for Scholarship.

JNTU is in affiliation with 291 colleges where they offer M.Tech degree programs with 64 specializations and M.Pharmacy with 11 specializations.

Application Process

Applicants can register for the TS PGECET by filling the application form.

The form can be accessed from the university’s official website.

  • The candidates have to visit the official website of TS PGECET
  • The candidates are required to fill in the basic details.
  • The Aadhaar Card number of the candidate is mandatory.
  • The payment of the registration fee can be done online through Online services or Payment Gateway (through Credit Card/Debit Card/ Net banking).
  • Candidate must preserve the registration number generated during the online filling of the application form.

Note:

  • It is recommended to keep a print out of the filled-in application form and fee slip for future reference.
  • The candidates shall very carefully verify the details while submitting the online application.
  • Request for change of test paper will not be entertained.
  • All the photographs submitted with the application must be exactly identical. Otherwise, candidates will not be permitted into the examination hall.
  • The TS PGECET 2020 will take place between May 2 to 4, 2020 (tentative).

Eligibility Criteria

  • For M.Pharmacy the candidate must have a bachelors’ degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  • For M.Tech the candidate must have a B.Tech degree or a relevant degree from a recognized university or institute.
  • Candidates in the final year of their degree are also eligible to apply TS PGECET.

International Students:

International students seeking admission in JNTU must fulfill the following requirements:

M.Tech

Bachelors’ degree in Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examinations.

M. Pharmacy

Bachelors’ degree in Pharmacy with a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examinations.

The applicant must possess English proficiency by securing a valid score in either of the following tests:

Admission is based on the scores obtained in any of the following tests:

  • GMAT
  • JNTUH-ELT examination in addition to the existing rules of the JNTUH

Admission Reservation

  • Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates.
  • The remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions Order.

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining 15% (un-reserved) seats:

  • All the candidates eligible to be declared as local candidates.
  • Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of 10 years or whose parents have resided in the State for a total period of ten years.
  • Children of parents who are in the employment of the State or Central Government within the State.
  • Spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central Government.

Admission Process

Admission will be based on the performance of the candidate in the TS PGECET exam. The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in PGECET was 25% i.e., 30 marks out of a total of 120. In the case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates.

While filling up the seats in colleges, first preference will be given to candidates qualified in GATE/GPAT, based on their test scores.

The remaining seats will be allotted to the candidates who qualified in TS PGECET as per their merit ranks.

The selected candidates have to submit the following documents during the time of admission:

  • Transfer Certificate
  • HSC/CBSE/other equivalent mark sheet
  • Graduation certificate
  • Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)
  • Certificates for Special categories, if required
  • Nativity Certificate if required
  • Date of Birth Certificate (SSC/ICSE/CBSE).
  • Medical certificate
  • Rank Card of TS PGECET

The ICCR sponsored foreign students are eligible for direct admission.
