Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) offers admission to the Post-graduation programs under various courses such as MBA with 4 specializations, M.Sc. with 3 specializations, MPH, MA (Distance Education Mode), MA with 5 specializations, M.Com and M.Lib.S.

YCMOU has around 183 study centers. Admission to MPH and MBA is done on the basis of CET conducted by the university. Selection to M.Com, M.Lib, MA, and M.Sc. is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Candidates can register for admission by filling in the online application form and submitting the required processing requisites, on or before the due date.

The MBA program is offered in four specializations which are Human Resource, Finance, Marketing, and Manufacturing.

YCMOU MBA Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should have any Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
  • Candidate must qualify the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.

YCMOU MBA Selection Criteria

Admission to the program will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

YCMOU MBA Entrance Test (MCQ Based): The university conducts a separate entrance test to offer admission in the MBA program. The test consists of the following sections as given below:

Note- Candidates possessing a valid score in MAHCET/CAT/MAT need not appear for YCMOU CET.

How to Apply?

The candidates can apply for YCMOU MBA by filling in its online application form. 

  • The forms can be submitted on the official website at www.ycmou.digitaluniversity.ac.
  • Students have to fill information such as their name, email address, residential address, phone number, etc.
  • A scanned passport size photograph and signature will also be required to upload in the application form. 
  • Then in the final stage of filling up the form, the candidates have to pay the application fee of INR. 500/-

After the final submission, they have to collect the payment receipt and submit it to the Study Centre for confirmation of admission.

Apart from MBA, the university offers an M.Sc. under the discipline of Agricultural Extension, Mathematics, and Environmental Science, MPH, M.Com, M.L.IS, and M.A. under the following disciplines-

The duration of all the above-mentioned programs is 2 to 5 years. Admission to all the courses is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. For MPH, candidates are selected on the basis of the YCMOU entrance test.

YCMOU PG Selection Criteria

  • Admission to M.Sc in Agricultural Extension is offered on the basis of merit and social reservation.
  • Admission to all the other courses except for MPH is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
  • The admission to MPH program is based on the YCMOU entrance exam. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the eligibility criteria and the scores in the entrance test.

How to Apply for PG Programs?

Candidates must apply for admission through online registration process and submit completed application before the last date. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

The application forms can be filled online by visiting the official website of YCMOU. After completion of online registration, students should download the receipt of online fee (INR 100) payment. Final admission is offered only after the submission of receipt at the designated study center.

Follow the given steps to apply for admission-

  • Visit the official website of YCMOU Nashik (http://ycmou.digitaluniversity.ac/)
  • Click on the ‘Online Application’ tab and choose the subcategory of UG/ PG/ diploma/ certificate programs
  • Click on the ‘submit’ button. The registration form opens up.
  • Register yourself by filling the application form carefully and pay the application fee of INR. 100/-
  • Download the duly-filled application form and send the same along with the mandatory documents to any of the YCMOU regional centres

List of documents to be submitted along with the application form:

  1. Passport-size photograph
  2. Identity card
  3. Academic certificate(s)
  4. Birth certificate or documentary proof of birth
  5. Experience certificate, if applicable

YCMOU PG Reservation Criteria

For those programs in which there are limited seats, some of the candidates are to be denied admission. The reservation policy of the State of Maharashtra is used to allocate the seats to the candidates. A merit list based on the criteria as mentioned in the additional information of the specific program is prepared. 50% seats are earmarked to unreserved (UR) candidates. This means that allocation to these seats is done on the basis of a high score in the merit list without consideration to the cast or category of reservation. The remaining fifty percent of seats are filled according to the following table.

Ques. What are the various Schools of Studies under YCMOU PG Department?

Ans. The YCMOU offers its various academic programs through the following Schools:
  • School of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • School of Commerce and Management
  • School of Education
  • School of Agriculture Sciences
  • School of Health Science.

Ques. What is the admission process for International Students?

Ans. Admission of all the international students will be done through the International Students' Cell. Students will generally be admitted in the beginning of the course. The admission of international students is done in two stages-
  • First, a student wishing to join the institute gets the application form and the information on the eligibility requirements, courses available and admission procedure from the prospectus or the website of the Institution. 
  • The application for provisional admission is then submitted to the International Student's Cell along with the prescribed fees. The Cell will then check the eligibility and issue the provisional admission letter. This is required to get the visa and to complete other formalities.
  • After getting provisional admission, the student should get the student visa and complete all other formalities. The student should then report for final admission to the ISC and study center selected by the candidate. 
  • The next step is to fill up the admission form from the concerned institute and pay the required fees. After this, the student should undergo the medical examination. Once this is done, the final admission is given.

Ques. Does the university offer any scholarships to the PG students?

Ans. YCMOU PG Scholarships- YCMOU endows the following scholarships to its deserving candidates:
  • SC/ST Welfare and Backward Class Scholarships
  • Scholarships are given by the Govt. of India.
  • Post-Matric scholarship

Ques. What is the eligibility criteria for the Distance MBA program of YCMOU?

Ans. The eligibility criteria are:
  • Candidates must have graduated from any recognized university with at least 55%. The percentage of marks is relaxed by 5% in case of Reserved Category candidates.
  • Must have a valid Common Admission Test / MAT / GMAT / XAT score. For candidates seeking admission to MBA outside India with the university, a valid GMAT score is a necessity.

The university offers M.Sc in Agricultural Extension, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Actuarial Science, Urban and Regional Planning etc. but not Chemistry. You can check the Admission Procedure for the same from here.
