Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), is an architecture and fine arts university established in 1940, as the "College of Fine Arts". The University offers the following PG degree programme in Arts to its students every year

  • M.F.A (Master of Fine Arts)

Only candidates with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned programmes. Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the application form and submitting it along with the required processing fee. Admission to the MFA programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examination.

Candidates should possess bachelor’s degree in fine arts or any other equivalent stream from this university or any other recognized university.

Branches:  Applied Art-25 seats / Photography (P.T.P.G.) -20 seats / Painting-15 seats / Sculpture-10 seats/Applied Art (P.T.P.G.) - 15 seats

Duration of the Programme: 2 years

How To Apply

Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Applied Arts)

  • Candidates seeking admission to MFA programme can download the concerned application form available at the university website and submit it upon completion within the stipulated time. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.
  • Along with the completed applications, candidate must also submit the required fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in case of SC / SCA / ST candidates) through DD, drawn at any nationalized bank in favour of “Registrar, JNAFAU” and payable at Hyderabad
  • Duly filled-in applications along with the DD and necessary enclosures should be submitted, in person or through post, to the following address:

Note:  Candidate must retain the photocopies of application form and application number for subsequent use.


The candidate must send the photo affixed and duly signed application along the following photocopies:

  • HSC/CBSE/other equivalent mark sheet
  • Transfer Certificate   
  • Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  • Certificates for Special categories, if required     
  • Nativity Certificate if required
  • Graduation certificate and joint declaration form, if required
