IIM Kashipur MBA (Analytics) Admission 2020

MBA Analytics from IIM Kashipur is a two year full time residential program. Students seeking admission are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned below. 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Full-time Bachelor's degree in any program or an equivalent degree (i.e., 10+2+3), with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (47% for NC-OBC, 45% marks for SC/ ST/ DAP)
  2. Any of the following qualifying examination scores: 
    • Valid CAT-2019 Score 
    • GMAT / GRE score if the exam was taken on or after May 1, 2018

IIM Kashipur MBA (Analytics) How to Apply?

The process for application is completely online and students have to access the official website of the institute. The entire admission process is divided into 3 stages.

Stage 1

The first stage is the application process online. The steps are mentioned below. 

Step 1: Registration

Access the official website of IIM Kashipur, and go to Academics > MBA > Admissions. On the new web page opened, click on MBA Analytics tab. Next, click on either Link 1 or Link 2. This will lead you to the registration form. 

  1. New User Login: If you have not registered before, or are signing up now, click on this button. Fill in the details and create an account. 
  2. Existing User: If you have already signed up before, log in with the details. 

Step 2: Fill in the Form

 Fill in the requisite information, particulars and details in the application form. It consists of three steps. You will fill relevant details in the first two steps and upload necessary files and submit the application in the third step.

Step 3: Submission 

Verify the details entered and click the “Submit” button for submitting your application. Upon successful submission, you will receive a system generated unique ‘Registration No.’ Please note for any correspondence.

Stage 2

Based on their Qualifying Exam Score (CAT-2019/ GMAT/ GRE), educational background (Marks obtained in X, XII and Graduation Degree), work experience, discipline diversity, and gender diversity, candidates will be shortlisted. The shortlisting criteria and its weightage is as follows:

Stage 3

In the last step, the shortlisted candidate has to appear for a personal interview that will be conducted at the college campus of IIM Kashipur. If not, then the students can also give their interviews in New Delhi and Bangalore. 

After the interview, the college will declare the admission list, and the shortlisted candidate will receive a mail within the given timeline. Announcement of the final merit list is in order of the merit received based on the total score. The calculation is as follows:

IIM Kashipur MBA (Analytics) Course Details

The MBA (Analytics) program is divided into 6 terms, three in the first year, and the remaining three in the second year. Each term is of eleven weeks duration. 

Some of the first-year subjects of MBA (Analytics) are common with the Regular MBA program in Terms I, II, and III. The course provides a well-built foundation on Management and Data Analysis. During the summer internship, students get an opportunity to build a practical perspective of their course and curriculum and practice in their field of work. 

The main objectives of the course are: 

  • Providing a comprehensive learning environment for students to cope with the increasing demand for complex data analysis 
  • Understanding the necessary principles of different forms of analytics (descriptive, predictive and prescriptive)

Ques. What documents are required for work-experience?

Ans. For work Experience, Interested Candidates need to attach the below documents :
  • Proof of Work Experience along with first & last salary slips. 
  • Specific dates of joining and leaving the organization(s) need to be mentioned. 

In the case of Self-employed professionals: 

  • A personal declaration stating the exact dates of their employees along with necessary documents. 

Ques. My GRE Score is 300. Am I eligible for applying to the course?

Ans. There is no minimum percentile or percentage requirement for CAT / GMAT / GRE or sectional cut-off requirement at the application stage. So you are more than welcome to apply as long as the exam has been conducted after May 2018. However, the minimum percentile or percentage may be decided for shortlisting purposes after the application deadline.

Ques. Is work experience mandatory for applying to the program?

Ans. Absolutely not. Work experience is not mandatory for applying to the program. But note that it gives an added benefit while shortlisting candidates. If you have absolutely no work experience, you will be scored 0/10 in that criteria.

Ques. Can I submit my internship details as part of work experience at IIM Kashipur for MBA? 

Ans. Unfortunately, apprenticeship, articleship, internship, etc., which form an integral part of a course study, should not be treated as work experience. Indicate only paid and full-time work experience, acquired after completing the Bachelor’s Degree.

Ques. What is the application fee? 

Ans. For General candidates, the application fee is INR 1000. For NC-OBC / SC / ST / EWS / DAP Candidates, the application fee is INR 500.
