MGU Kerala MA, M.Com, and M.Sc. Admissions 2020: Courses, Time Table, Result

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is one of the leading universities of Kerala which offers undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and research programmes to its students. MGU has introduced Centralised Allotment Process (CAP), a single admission window for candidates who seek admission to the UG/PG programmes offered by the university. 

MGU offers the following PG programmes in multiple disciplines every year:

  • Master of Arts (M.A.)
  • Master of Commerce (M.Com.)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.)

Students seeking admission to the above mentioned PG courses can submit their applications online through CAP within the stipulated time. Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of their performance in the qualifying degree/ entrance examination conducted by the university. Check MGU Admission

How to Apply

  • Candidate need to apply online through the official university website for admission to the above mentioned PG programmes 
  • Candidates must click on the link “PG CAP” and follow the given steps in order to successfully apply for the particular course. Students must read all the instructions carefully before filling up the online application form
  • Candidates seeking admission through merit/management quota/ sports quota/cultural quota/Lakshadweep quota, staff quota can apply directly to the concerned institute.

Application Fee:

For All candidates except SC/ST: 250/-

For SC/ST candidates: 125/-

Enclosures:

  1. Allotment memo received online.
  2. Receipt of fee remitted in the bank.
  3. Certificate of date of birth
  4. Transfer certificate for last attended institute.
  5. Mark list of +2 or equivalent examination and graduate degree
  6. Eligibility certificate from MGU in case candidate passed from other college/institute/board except CBSE/CISCE.
  7. Migration certificate, if applicable.
  8. Cast certificate in case of SC/ST.
  9. Candidates who wish to avail of bonus/weight age of marks shall produce certificates.

Eligibility Criteria

M.A. English

Candidate must possess graduate degree in English under model I/II/III OR graduate in language and literature, social science, science, oriental studies

M.A. Hindi

Candidate must possess graduation in B.A with Hindi as main programme with not less than 45% marks in part III subjects (main + subsidiaries)

M.A. Malayalam

Candidate must possess graduation in Malayalam as main programme with not less than 45% marks in part III subjects (main + subsidiaries)

M.A Sanskrit (Nyaya):

M.A Sanskrit (Vedanta):

M.A Sanskrit (Sahitya):

M.A Sanskrit (Vyakarana):

Candidate must possess graduation in Sanskrit as main programme with not less than 45% marks in part III subjects (main + subsidiaries

M.A Economics

Candidate must possess graduation degree in economics/mathematics/statics with not less than 45% marks OR Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in co-operation and banking with not less than 45% of marks from Kerala Agriculture University

M.A History

Candidate must possess graduation in any subject of social science or graduation in language and literature with English with not less than 45% marks in part III subjects

M.A Politics

Candidate must possess graduation in any subject of social science or graduation in language and literature with English with not less than 45% marks in part III subjects in (Main + subsidiaries)

M.A Sociology

Candidate must possess graduation in Faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Business Studies, Commerce and Law not less than 45% marks in part III subjects in (Main + subsidiaries)

Admission Process

  • Candidate will be shortlisted for admission to above mentioned PG courses based on the rank and marks secured in the university entrance examination.
  • According to the rank list, candidates will be eligible for the seats allocated in all colleges/institutions under State merit, reserved quotas and communal reservation seats.
