Fakir Mohan University PG Admissions 2020: Courses, Eligibility, Result

Established in 1999, Fakir Mohan University is a UGC recognized University imparting professional and non-professional education, research and training.

A member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU),  FM University  has two campuses and offers admission to the following postgraduate (PG) programmes:

  • M.A.
  • M.Sc.
  • M.Com.
  • MSW
  • LL.M

Only candidates with the relevant undergraduate (UG) degree are eligible to apply for the above mentioned programmes.

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before the last date. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance test conducted by the university.

How To Apply

Candidates must apply for admission by filling and submitting completed applications before Aug 10. Along with completed applications, candidates must attach Bank Draft/ bankers Cheque of Rs.300/- as Entrance Fee.

  • Candidate can obtain the application form either from the cash counter of the university on payment of Rs. 200/- or can download the same from the university website and send it upon completion along with the DD. DD of Rs. 200/- should be drawn in favour of “F.M. University P.G.R. fund, Fakir Mohan University” and payable at Balasore
  • Along with the completed applications, in all respects, candidate must also enclose the supporting documents and submit it in person/post to the concerned Head of Department:

  • Candidate must keep a Xerox copy of the completed applications for subsequent use


  1. Mark sheets and Certificates of all examinations starting from H.S.C
  2. Caste certificate in respect of SC/ST candidates from the competent authority
  3. Certificate from CDMO regarding his/ her disability for a minimum of 50 % (in case of physically handicapped candidates).
  4. 4 self attested passport size photographs.


Common Eligibility:

  • Candidate must possess 3 years degree in Arts/Sciences/Commerce of this University or any other recognized university by the Academic Council with Honours in the concerned subject or should have passed in the subjects with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates awaiting the results of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply


  • SC/ST candidates are eligible for reservation at the time of admission according to the reservation Policy of the Government of Odisha. Unfilled seats reserved for ST candidates will be filled-up by SC candidates and vice-versa
  • Seats for OBC and other category candidates are reserved as per the Government of Odisha norms.
  • 1 seat in each department is reserved for the physically handicapped candidates
  • Seats reservation will be given to Kashmiri migrant student

Admission Process

Selection of the candidates to the above mentioned PG courses is done on the basis of  their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university.



  • Candidate will obtain scholarship awarded by the National Councils and State Government on the basis of the result of +3 Exams in Arts/Science/ Commerce.
  • Students pursuing Post Graduate courses in University Departments are eligible to receive P.G. Merit Scholarship and Loan stipend awarded by the State Government


  • Students seeking admission to the hostel shall have to apply to the Head of the concerned Department at the time of admission.
  • After the completion of the admission in the PG department HOD’s shall forward such applications to the warden.
  • Warden shall distribute the hostel seats on proportional basis and notify the list of students admitted in different hostels.
  • Admission to the hostel is for one academic session.
