Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha is a deemed university which was established in 1956. Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha was certified under UGC Act of section 3 in the field of higher learning in Sanskrit studies, Traditional Sastras and Sanskrit Teacher Education. Candidate can get admission to the above mentioned course through entrance testand interviewconducted by the university.

Candidates can register themselves to the above mentioned course by submitting the application fee along with DD of amount Rs. 200/-.

M.Phil/Ph.D in Education

Visishtacharya (M.Phil.):


Candidate must possess Acharya or equivalent degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks (for open category candidates) and 50% marks (for SC/ST category candidates).

Visishtacharya (M.Phil.) in Education – (5 seats):


  • Candidate must possess Siksha Acharya (M.Ed.) degree with minimum of 55% of marks and Acharya/ M.A. (Skanskrit) or any equivalent PG Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (in both the degrees)
  • Candidates belong to SC/ST category must possess above mentioned degree with minimum of 50% of marks and must have expertise in Sanskrit.

How To Apply

M.Phil/Ph.D in Education

  • Candidates can download application form and prospectus from university website “”
  • Candidates can also obtain the application form by post after submitting amount of Rs. 250/- by DD in favour of The Registrar, R.S.Vidyapeetha, Tirupati payable at Tirupati
  • Candidates have to submit their filled in application form along with prospectus in person by DD of amount Rs. 200 from any Nationalised bank drawn in favour of The Registrar, R.S.Vidyapeetha, Tirupati payable at Tirupati or challan in the Andhra Bank, R.S.Vidyapeetha branch, Tirupati
  • Incomplete applications received after the due date will be rejected
  • Candidate must attend the interview with original documents and 3 sets of photocopies of documents on specified date and time.
  • If the candidate is not present physically, the candidate will lose their seat.
  • Candidate admission will be confirmed after interview and written test conducted by the university.
  • Candidates must bring the following original documents at the time of interview which are as below:-

Admission Process

M.Phil/Ph.D in Education

Selection of the candidates to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of entrance test and interview conducted by the university.


Reseravtion of seats in the university is as per the exsisting norms of UGC or by government of India. Seats reservation in various categories are as follows:

  • 15% seats are reserved for the SC candidates and 7½% seats are reserved for the ST category candidates.
  • 27% sets are reserved for the OBC category candidates.
  • 3% seats are reserved for the person with disability and few seats are also reserved for the children of the employees of the Vidyapeetha



  • 25 students from Prak-Sastri, 5 from each Sastra at Sastri level and 10 from each Sastra at Acharya level will be awarded Scholarship as per rules
  • Candidate will get scholarship on the basis of their percentage of marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • Scholarship will be given only for 10 months in a year.


  • University provide 4 hostels for men candidates and separate 3 hostels for research candidates
  • University also provides separate hostel for women candidate.
