APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, formerly known as Kerala Technological University (KTU), was established by the Government of Kerala in 2014. It has been established both as a teaching and affiliation university with numerous colleges running under its jurisdiction. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University offers the following programmes to its students under the College of Engineering, Trivandrum:

  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)
  • Master of Technology (M.Tech)
  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Those seeking admission to the above mentioned courses must fulfill the required eligibility criteria before applying for the programme. Selection of candidates to the M.Tech programme will be done on the basis of GATE scores. Eligibility Criteria


  • Candidates shall have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or 12th Standard V.H.S.E., C.B.S.E., I.S.C or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto
  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for to appear for KEAM, condcuted by CEE-Kerala


  • Candidates must be an Indian National.
  • Candidate should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE / Deemed Universities in India.
  • Candidates should have scored at least 60% aggregate of marks in the Engineering Degree examination. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient. For SEBC (OBC) students, a minimum of 54% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination is mandatory.
  • Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in Kerala will be given preference over all candidates
  • In case of vacant seats due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered for admission. If seats are still remaining vacant, candidates from other states will be considered for admission


  • Candidates should have studied a degree course of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Engineering and Technology as a Main/ Subsidiary/ Core subject at the Degree level. Candidate should have secured at least 50% aggreagte of marks in their Degree examination.
  • For SEBC and physically handicapped candidates, the aggregate marks required is 45%. For SC and ST candidates, a minimum pass in the degree examination is sufficient.

How to Apply


Candidate can register themselves for the KEAM entrance examinations by logging on to the official CEE-Kerala website.The application fee for all candidates will be as follows:

  • General : Rs.1,000/-
  • SC : Rs.500/

Candidates must follow the given 7 steps for registration to KEAM entrance examination through online application process:

  4. Final Submission of Application
  5. Payment of Application Fee
  6. Printout of the Application
  7. Send the Printout of application and supporting documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala)

Candidates can submit the prescribed application fee through any of the following two methods:

  1. Students can obtain the prospectus along with the application form from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State upon submitting the fee through cash.
  2. Application fee can be submitted through Demand Draft (DD) in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

  • Candidates can register themselves for M.Tech admissions through online application process by logging on to the official DTE Kerala website.
  • Upon submitting the online application form, an application fee of Rs 500/- (Rs 100/- in case of SC/ST Candidates) is to be remitted in any specified branch of State Bank of Travancore along with the generated challan. 
  • Printout of the duly filled-in applications should be sent along with the copies of following documents, to the following address:

  • Candidates seeking admission to the MCA course can obtain the prospectus and register online for the examination through the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala). Application Fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only). In the case of SC/ST candidates, the application fee is Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only).
  • The required fee can be remitted at any branch of State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is generated along with the online application printout. Candidates outside of Kerala State can submit the fee through Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn in favour of The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. 
  • Completed applications along with the demand draft of the required amount of fees should be sent to the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala)

Admission Process


Selection of candidates to the B.Tech programme will be done on the basis of their performance in KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, Medical) entrance examinations conducted by CEE-Kerala.


Selection of candidates to the M.Tech programme will be done on the basis of their GATE scores.


Selection of candidates to the MCA programme will be done on the basis of their performance in entrance examination conducted by CEE-Kerala.
