Founded in 2010 by the Government of Kerala, Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) is a pioneer university in the field of medicine, allied sciences & homeopathy. With 8 working departments such as dentistry, surgery, public health etc. that offer various UG programmes, the university also provides research and training in the latest Medicine Sciences, Homoeopathy and Indian Medicine Systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha and Yoga. Till date, a total of 249 colleges have been enrolled in KUHS for imparting quality education through professional courses in health care industry.
In ordert to take admission in KUHS, the students have to appear for the medical entrance test conducted by Medical/ Pharmacy/ Dental Council of India with respect to the course. Admission to all the UG courses is completely merit based as decided by the respective competent authorities.

Duration: 4 ½ years with 1 year of internship
Age Limit: Students must have completed 17 years of age as on or before December 31, 2017.
Students must have completed the 12 years of education in terms of Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination.
The last two years of study must comprising any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with minimum 50% marks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology together and 50% in Biology/Biotechnology separately.
For students belongs to socially and educationally backward classes, the minimum marks required in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together and in Biology and Biotechnology separately is relaxed to 45% instead of 50%.
For students belongs to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, the minimum marks required in qualifying examination in Physics, chemistry and biology/Biotechnology taken together is relaxed to 40%.
For candidates falling under Persons with Disability (PwD) category:
In case of persons with locomotors disability of lower limbs (40 to 70%), eligibility will be relaxed up to minimum of 45% marks instead of 50% taken together in qualifying examination.
Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/ Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English will also be considered.
Age Limit: Student must be 17 years old as on October 01, 2017.
Students must have passed 10+2 standard with science or any other equivalent examination recognized by concerned State Governments and Education boards provided the students passes the examination with 50% aggregate marks in Physics,Chemistry, Biology and 50% in Biology separately.
If facilities for teaching Sanskrit as optional subject are not available at 12th standard (Biology Science group), the students with 12th (Biology Science Group) be admitted and Sanskrit will be taught in main course.
For foreign students any other equivalent qualification approved by KUHS will be considered.
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Optometry)
Duration: 3 years
Students looking for admission shall have passed the Pre-Degree examination of the Kerala University or any other equivalent examination recognized by the Kerala University with 50% marks in Science subjects
Students performed Group II in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with relaxation allowed by Government of Kerala for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Medical Laboratory Technology)
, Bachelor Degree in Cardiovascular Technology [BCVT]
& Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Medical Radiological Technology)
Duration: 3 years with 1 year rotating internship
Qualification: Student shall pass higher secondary examination10+2 from Govt: of Kerala or equivalent course recognized by the Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Perfusion Technology)
Duration: 4 years
Students must have passed two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by University of Health Sciences with, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principle subjects of study.
Or students must have passed Pre-Degree course from a recognized University considered as equivalent by KUHS, (Two years after ten years of schooling) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects.
Or any other equivalent examination recognized by KUHS, Kerala for the above purpose with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subject.
Or he/she must have passed the vocational higher secondary education course approved by Government of Kerala with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
A student who has undergone any of the following courses and passed the examination with an aggregate of 50% marks in overall and 50% marks in the optional subject.
Higher secondary examination of Govt. of Kerala with Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Biotechnology as optional subjects.
Any other Examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology /Mathematics/Computer Science / Biotechnology as optional subjects approved as equivalent to any of the above examinations by the Kerala University of Health Sciences.
Minimum qualification required for admission directly to second year of the B. Pharma course (Lateral admission):
Student who has passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course of Educational Regulations 1991 under Pharmacy act 1948 from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year of examination.
Duration: 5 ½ years
Age Limit: Student must be 17 years old as on December 31, 2017.
Students must have passed the higher secondary examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or examination recognized by the University.
Students looking for admission in B.H.M.S. course must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Biology separately and not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination and also in English as a compulsory subject
No candidate shall be admitted to BHMS Degree course if he is blind (including colour blindness) deaf or dump Qualification and allocation of the seats will be as per the directions issued by the Government of Kerala from time to time.
Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery [BSMS]
Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Surgery (BSMS): 1 ½ years
Post B. Sc. Nursing: 2 years
Students looking for admission must hold diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GMN)
Must be a registered nurse authorized approved by State Nursing Council.
Must have passed 10+2 with Science subjects.
Student should be medically fit.
Bachelor in Audiology and Speech - Language Pathology [BASLP]
Duration: 4 years
The student applying for admission to BASLP course should have obtained a minimum of 50% (40% in case of SC/ST students) in 10+2 examination or equivalent examination conducted by the Pre University Board of Education of Government of respective State.
Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Electronics / Psychology.
At the time of entry / admission to the first year of BASLP course the student must obtain the age of 17 years or above.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)
Duration: 4 ½ years
Students who have passed higher secondary examination of the Board of higher secondary education, Kerala or equivalent with 50% Marks in biology separately and 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and biology together are eligible.
Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] (Ayurveda)
B. Pharma (Ayurveda): 2 years
B. Sc. (Nursing) in Ayurveda: 4 years
Age Limit: Student must be 17 years old as on October 01, 2017.
Students who has undergone any of the following courses in English medium and passed the examination with 50% marks in the aggregate of optional subjects:
Pre degree examination of the Universities of Kerala state with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
Higher secondary examination of Govt. of Kerala with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
Any other examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects approved as equivalent to any of the above examination by the University.

Students looking for admission have to apply in KUHS through formal application along with the below mentioned documents:

Sponsorship letter/ employment letter/ passport in case of NRI’s.
Admission Process for MBBS/BDS/B.Pharm and other Health Science Courses
Selection will be done on the basis of merit list prepared as per the scores obtained by the candidate in entrance exam. The entrance exam will be conducted by KUHS/Medical Council of India (MCI)/ Dental Council of India (DCI). Admission process will be finalized by the respective college in which a student has been admitted.
