Founded in 2010 by the Government of Kerala, Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) is a pioneer university in the field of medicine, allied sciences & homeopathy. With 8 working departments such as dentistry, surgery, public health etc. that offer various UG programmes, the university also provides research and training in the latest Medicine Sciences, Homoeopathy and Indian Medicine Systems such as Ayurveda, Siddha and Yoga. Till date, a total of 249 colleges have been enrolled in KUHS for imparting quality education through professional courses in health care industry.

In ordert to take admission in KUHS, the students have to appear for the medical entrance test conducted by Medical/ Pharmacy/ Dental Council of India with respect to the course. Admission to all the UG courses is completely merit based as decided by the respective competent authorities. 

How to Apply

Students looking for admission have to apply in KUHS through formal application along with the below mentioned documents:

  1. Marks sheet of Qualifying exam
  2. Transfer certificate
  3. Allotment letter
  4. Sponsorship letter/ employment letter/ passport in case of NRI’s.
  5. Prescribed fee for registration (INR 1000)

Eligibility Criteria

Duration: 4 ½ years with 1 year of internship

Age Limit: Students must have completed 17 years of age as on or before December 31, 2019.


  • Students must have completed the 12 years of education in terms of Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination.
  • The last two years of study must comprise any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English with minimum 50% marks for Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology together and 50% in Biology/Biotechnology separately.
  • For students belongs to socially and educationally backward classes, the minimum marks required in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together and in Biology and Biotechnology separately is relaxed to 45% instead of 50%.
  • For students belongs to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, the minimum marks required in qualifying examination in Physics, chemistry and biology/Biotechnology taken together is relaxed to 40%.
For candidates falling under Persons with Disability (PwD) category:
  • In case of persons with locomotors disability of lower limbs (40 to 70%), eligibility will be relaxed up to minimum of 45% marks instead of 50% taken together in qualifying examination.
  • Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the intermediate science examination of an Indian University/ Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English will also be considered.

Admission Process

Selection will be done on the basis of merit list prepared as per the scores obtained by the candidate in entrance exam. The entrance exam will be conducted by KUHS/Medical Council of India (MCI)/ Dental Council of India (DCI). Admission process will be finalized by the respective college in which a student has been admitted.

Hi Ashish, admission to this course is done on the basis of merit in qualifying examination i.e. intermediate. Students who have scored at least 50% in intermediate are eligible to apply for this course.

Hi Faseela, the university conducts its entrance exam. However, if one has appeared in NEET, then he/she will be exempted from the university's entrance exam. Thus, your sister will not need to appear in appear in the entrance conducted by the university. Considering her score, she has fair chances of getting admission. Annual fees for this course is INR 55,000.

Hi Anvar, admission to B.Pharma is done only on the basis of marks secured in entrance examination. Only those candidates who have scored 50% marks in 12th and 50% in the relevant discipline separately will be eligible for admission in this course.

Hi Shanavas, there is no maximum age limit for applying in B.Sc nursing. The student shall pass higher secondary examination 10 2 from Govt: of Kerala or equivalent course recognized by the Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
