Nizam College Autonomous a Constituent College of Osmania University with NAAC- A Grade and CPE Status was established in the year 1887. The college was formed by amalgamation of Hyderabad School and Madarsa-i-Aliya. The college is a highly reputed and the oldest college of higher education in South India.
Nizam College offers both undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes. Nizam also provides specialization programmes. Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the DM and M.Ch courses. Applications are being invited for the eligible candidates of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States for admission into the M.Ch or DM courses for the year.
Please note that a candidate cannot apply for more than one subject. Also, if a candidate has once chosen a particular subject, he/she cannot change the subject under any circumstances.

Candidates who have passed either MD or MS or DNB examination from any Medical College which is recognized by Medical Council of India or its equivalent are eligible for admission.
Candidates who have completed the training period on or before 30/06/2019 are also eligible provided they are to submit: a) A certificate issued by the Principal/Dean stating the date of completion of the training, and b) declaration is to be submitted by the candidate.
Absolution of training period will be accepted if approved by the MCI along with submission of the necessary documents. For the period ending 30/06/2019 or beyond, the absolution for the training period will be restricted. Candidates are to submit the absolution certificate along with the application form.
Candidates who have registered for a regular course at NIMS must resign from the training/course by fulfilling all the formalities that are mentioned for the purpose of resignation from the course/training.
How To Apply
Candidates must follow the following steps in order to fill the application form:
Candidates are to download the application form from the following site www.nims.edu.in
Hard copy of the application form is to be submitted by the candidates.
All the required fields are to be filled by the candidates properly. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
Candidates are required to make a DD of Rs.2000/- in favour of The Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences which will be payable at Hyderabad. Candidates can also pay Rs.2000/- at the cash counter. The candidate is required to write his/her name and course applied for on the back side of the cash receipt. Please note that the application fee paid by the candidates is non refundable.
In case the application is received after the time and date mentioned shall not be entertained.
As soon as the application is processed, the management will send an acknowledgement along with a registration number to the candidates.
In case the candidates are in-service, they must be sponsored by their parent department. The appointing authority will forward the application. Service or a No-objection certificate is to be submitted by the In-service candidates in original along with the submission of application form.
In case any variations are required in the application, discrepancies will be sent to the candidates via registered email.
Please note that any applications which are hand written or incomplete will be rejected. Therefore, candidates are required to fill the form clearly and correctly.
Instructions for Entrance Test:
The venue, date and time for the entrance test will be mentioned on the hall ticket.
Hall ticket can be downloaded from the website.
Candidates are required to carry the hall ticket along with one ID proof.
No travelling allowance will be paid to the candidates.
The entrance test has 90 questions for 90 marks and the time duration for the test is 90 minutes.
No candidate must use any false means in the examination hall as the candidate will be disqualified.
All the necessary information will be provided to all the candidates by the person-on-duty in the examination hall.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list.
Candidates will qualify the examination if they will acquire 50% marks.
Separate merit list will be prepared for each subject.
In case candidates acquire same marks the following criteria will have to be followed:
Candidate who will pass MD/MD/DNB exam in first attempt or least attempts will be selected.
In case there is still a tie, candidate will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in final year of MBBS.
In case there is still a tie, preference will be given to candidates who will secure higher marks in Medicines in MBBS (exam for medical specialities), higher marks secured in Surgery in MBBS (exam for surgical specialities).

Further candidates will be called for the counselling and the ones who get selected in the counselling will be given a provisional admission letter.
85% seats are reserved for local candidates and the remaining 15% seats are reserved for both local and non-local candidates.
BC (A): 7%, BC (B): 10%, BC (C): 1%, BC (D): 7%, BC (E): 4%, ST: 6% and SC: 15%. Total 50% seats are reserved for the BC/SC/ST.
33.3% seats are reserved for women candidates in each course available.
5% seats are available for the NIQ Quota
60% seats are available for the students who had commerce as a subject and are seeking admission in B.Com. Rest of the 40% seats are reserved for both commerce and non-commerce streams.
Reservation is give to the candidates falling in the category that includes NCC: 2%, Games and Sports: 2%, Extra-curricular activities: 1%, Children of Ex-servicemen and Armed Personnel: 1% and physically challenged: 3%.
