BBAU Ph.D. & M.Phil Admission 2020: Courses, Application Process, Eligibility

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow was established in 1996, by Government of India. It is recognized by UGC and accredited as an “A” grade university. The university offers various graduate, post-graduate & doctorate programs in its various schools.

BBAU offers a minimum 3-year full-time Ph.D. course in 24 specializations and a minimum 1-year M.Phil course in 8 specializations at the doctoral level.

Admission to Ph.D. & M.Phil courses is granted on the basis of performance in the entrance test followed by an interview, conducted by the university. Candidates can register for admission by filling the online application form and submitting the required registration fee. Check BBAU Admission

How To Apply

Candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the online application form, along with the required fee and important documents. Candidates must follow the subsequent steps to apply:

  1. Visit the official website of the university.
  2. Click on “Online Admission System 2020”.
  3. Click on “Register and Apply” and fill all required details.
  4. Upload the required scanned copies in the prescribed size.
  5. Pay the application fee online through Debit or Credit card/ Net banking/ NEFT.
  6. Submit the form and take a print out of the form and registration no. for future use.

Note: The application fee can also be paid offline through Bank Challan at any ICICI branch. The registration number will be generated after depositing the fee.

  1. 5% relaxation is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  2. Candidates who have a degree equivalent to M.Phil from a recognized Foreign Educational Institution are also eligible for Ph.D. admission.


Admission Process

Candidates are selected for Ph.D. & M.Phil on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test held by the university followed by an interview. The entrance test is 2-hour long consisting of 100 MCQs of 100 marks with 50% questions from research methodology and 50% from the concerned subject. Admission will be offered in the order of merit as per the results of entrance examination and the reservation policy of the university.

Note: Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE or teaching fellowship holders will be exempted from the entrance exam. Such candidates have to appear in the interview only.
