Ambedkar University BA Admission 2019: Courses, Application Process, Eligibility, Cut Off

Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, or in short Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) was established by the Government of the NCT of Delhi through an Act of the Delhi Legislature. The University began functioning in August 2008. It is a Unitary Non-affiliating University whose main focus is on undergraduate and postgraduate studies and on research in the Humanities and the Social Sciences. It is completely funded by the State Government of the NCT of Delhi. The University is now declared eligible to receive Central Government Assistance. It has a non-hierarchical, collegial, liberal university atmosphere. There are also number of fee-waivers, fellowships and bursaries available to students to ensure that financial difficulties never become impediment for meritorious students enrolling at AUD. The unique undergraduate programmes offers multiple exit possibilities enabling students to graduate after three years with a single major or after four years with a dual major.

The University invites Applications for admission to the undergraduate programme for the academic year. The programmes offered are Bachelor of Arts(BA) in Economics, English, History, Mathematics, Psychology, Social Science and Humanities, and Sociology. The total seats in every BA Programme is 35 seats. The admission to the programmes is based on merit.

You should have passed the Class 12th Examination from a recognised Board with a minimum of 65% marks in aggregate subjects.

You should have passed the Class 12th Examination from a recognised Board with a minimum of 65% marks in Mathematics and other aggregate subjects, respectively.

How To Apply


You should fill the Application Form online only on the University website.

Step 1: You must click on “Admissions” and choose the UG / PG programme you are applying for in the drop down menu on the page.

Step 2: You should then select the programme of your choice and enter your email address and captcha image. You should then click submit and register. The system will then send a password.

Step 3: You should start filling up the Application Form. You should upload your photo.

Step 4: You must then fill in the personal and educational details, and upload a scanned signature.

Step 5: You should review the filled in Application Form and make the necessary changes, if any.

Step 6: Application Fee: You should then pay the Application fee of Rs. 330 for general category and Rs. 130 for reserved category in any of the following modes:

  • Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking
  • By Cash at AUD. You should then enter the cash receipt details in the Application Form
  • Demand Draft in favour of “Ambedkar University Delhi” payable at New Delhi

Step 7: After successful payment, you should then submit the Application Form. Your registration process is now complete.

Admission Process


You will be selected on the basis of merit.


Out of the total seats, 85% of the seats shall be reserved for those from the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the following proportion:-

Over and above the sanctioned seats in BA programme, one seat has been kept for the following categories (subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criterion for admission):

  • Foreign National
  • Single Girl Child
  • Extra-Curricular Activities/Sports
  • Kashmiri Migrants
  • Physically Disabled (PD) (3% of total number of sanctioned seats)
  • Wards of Armed Forces Personnel killed or disabled in action (CW) (3% of total Number of sanctioned seats)
