Indian law institute (ILI) takes admission for one year LL.M program on the basis of an eligibility test, ILICAT. The seat intake for LL.M admissions is 38.

Candidate applying for ILICAT should be a graduate in Law from a recognised university.

The application can be filled through both online and offline mode and fee for online applications is INR 2500 and it is INR 1500 for offline applications.

How To Apply

Application for ILICAT can be filled both in online and offline process.


Step 1: Visit the official website of the Indian Law Institute i.e.

Step 2: Register yourself by providing your email id and phone number.

Step 3: Click on the link sent to your registered email ID to verify your account.

Step 4: Candidates can login using the newly created credentials

Step 5: Fill all the required fields in the application form

Step 6: Upload your photograph and signature. All the files must be in the specified format and size.

Step 7: Submit the application fee through debit card, credit card or net banking.

Step 8: Verify all the information that you have entered. In case any changes are to be made, use the “Back” button to edit the form.

Step 9: After ensuring that all fields are correct, click on “Final Submit” button.


Step 1: ILICAT 2019 Application Form can be obtained by visiting the institute.

Step 2: Fill all the required details in the form- personal, academic and work experience.

Step 3: Paste the photograph on the space provided.

Step 4: Attach all the relevant documents with the application form.

Step 5: Verify all the information carefully and submit the application form along with the application fee (Demand Draft).

Indian law institute (ILI) has specified the eligibility criteria for the applicants of LL.M.

A candidate will be eligible only if,

  • Should have passed LL.B Degree (with not less than 50% marks) from any University,recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Having an equivalent Law Degree from any Foreign country with Minimum 50% marks in aggregate(for foreign applicants)
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam are also eligible for ILICAT.

Admission Process

  • Candidate will be selected on the basis of ILICAT scores.
  • Personal interview/ Viva for the selected applicants.
  • Final admission to LL.M program is granted based on following parameters:
    • ILICAT -MCQ based test of 140 marks.
    • Research and Writing skills - 40 maximum marks.
    • VIVA( for selected candidates only)-20 maximum marks.
