Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), commonly referred to as Meenakshi University, is a medical sciences university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2004, it received approval of the University Grants Commission in accordance with the UGC Act of 1956.

MAHER offers various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) through regular as well as distance learning modes every year. The university offers the following Undergraduate courses through the respective faculties to its students:

  • BDS
  • BPT
  • B.Sc (in 17 disciplines)
  • BA
  • BBA
  • BCA
  • B.Com (in 3 disciplines)
  • BBM

Selection of candidates to UG programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance test, conducted by the university. Those interested can register themselves for the courses by submitting duly filled-in applications along with the required processing fee.

How To Apply

  • Candidates can download the concerned application form available at the official university website.
  • Candidates can also obtain the application form along with the brochure in person upon payment of required fee of Rs. 1000/- for BDS course, Rs. 500/- for B.Sc Nursing programme and corresponding amount for other courses
  • Candidates can also request for the application form to be sent by post. Candidate must attach Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1100/- or Rs.600/- along with the requisition letter
  • Fees must be submitted through demand draft (DD) drawn in favour of the “Registrar, MAHER” payable at Chennai
  • Completed applications along with the DD must be submitted and the necessary enclosures to the following address:

  1. Attested photocopy of mark sheet/ proof of appearing +2 examination
  2. Attested photocopy of transfer certificate
  3. Attested photocopy of Community certificate issued by Tahsildar
  4. Self addressed stamped envelope (Rs. 5/-)
  5. Two passport size colour photographs

Candidate should have passed HSC examination in physics, chemistry, biology (zoology/botany) and English with minimum of 40% aggregate marks

Admission Process

Selection of the candidate to the undergraduate (UG) courses will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.
