Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) M.Tech. Admissions 2020: Placement, Cut Off, Result

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), formerly known as the University College of Engineering, Burla, is a UGC recognised Unitary Technical University located in Burla, Odisha. It is the best institute of technical education running under government of Odisha. It is the oldest degree-granting engineering institute in Odisha, founded as the University College of Engineering (UCE) in 1956. All the engineering courses of the University are AICTE approved.

The scholars of this institute have also been awarded various accolades like the NASA award, and are very active in academic and Technical Events and Participated in 89 Seminars and Technical Design Competitions and won 17 prizes. The campus placement has resulted in many companies such as Wipro, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, CMC, and other recruiting students from the University.

VSSUT, Odisha, Burla invites application for admission to the full time Regular M.Tech Programme offered by various Departments for the academic year. How To Apply

You should download the Application form from the University website, and then take a print out of the Application Form.

You must submit separate Application Forms if you are applying for more than one specializations in different Departments. However, if you are applying for more than one specializations in one Department, you can do so in the same form by giving the order of preference.

You should fill the Application Form with the required personal and educational details.

You must also affix a recent colour passport size photograph in the space provided.

Enclosures: You should attach the attested copies of the following documents along with the Application:

  • Certificate of 10th / Equivalent Examination
  • Certificate of +2 Sc. / Equivalent Examination
  • Certificate of B.Tech / Equivalent Examination
  • Grade sheets / Mark sheets of the 10th / Equivalent Examination
  • Grade sheets / Mark sheets of the +2 Sc. / Equivalent Examination
  • Grade sheets / Mark sheets of all the semesters of B.Tech / Equivalent Examination
  • GATE Score
  • SC/ST caste certificate, if applicable.

Application Fee: You must pay the non-refundable fee in the form of Demand Draft of Rs. 500 in case of general category and Rs. 200 in case of SC/ST category, in favour of VSSUT, Burla payable at SBI, Burla (Code-2034) or Syndicate Bank, VSSUT (Code-8062).

You must then send the duly singed hard copy of the completed application along with the documents mentioned above by speed post only so as to reach the Dean, PGS&R, VSSUT, Burla.

Note: The envelope containing the application should be super scribed as “Application for M.Tech Programme”.

You should have a B.Tech. Degree or an equivalent degree such as those obtained in the examinations conducted by Professional bodies (such as AMIE and AMIM), with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in B.Tech or equivalent examination.

You can also appear if you are giving your final year B.Tech. Degree or an equivalent examination, but you should submit the final grade sheet and provisional pass certificate.


The reservation of seats will be as per the policy of the Government of Odisha.

Admission Process

You will be selected on the basis of a valid GATE score.

If you do not have a valid GATE Score, the departments shall prepare the merit list on the basis of career marking as given below.
Total career marking is of 100 marks. To be selected, you should be able to secure a minimum of 45 marks for general category and 40 marks for SC/ST category.

  • 10th /equivalent Exam: 25 marks
  • +2 Sci/equivalent Exam: 35 marks
  • B.Tech/Equivalent Exam: 40 Marks
