Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research(JNCASR) offers Ph.D degrees in a number of disciplines. In the last few years, the Centre's faculty members have published their research in some of the most prestigious scientific journals, including Nature, Nature Medicine, etc. All students who are admitted to the Centre’s programmes receive stipends that are more than adequate to cover their tuition and living expenses, including hostel fees, etc.
JNCASR invites applications for admission to both Engineering and Research programs. It also offers Integrated Ph.D. programs. The admission is based on academic performance followed by an Interview. The admission for the Integrated Ph.D. programmes is through the JAM and/or JNCASR’s written test, followed by an Interview.
The interviews will be held as per the vacancies available. The admission committee shall shortlist the candidates for a written test and/or interviews based on the Unit criteria.

You should have an M Sc., B E, B Tech, B.Pharm., M E, M.Tech. or MBBS degree with at least 50% marks in your highest University examination.
You should also have qualified in any of the following examinations: GATE /GPAT/UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF / ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/JEST / INSPIRE (JRF). The award certificate of such a test should be in the validity period.M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Engineering

You should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level in B.Sc./B.E/ B.Tech. as applicable to the area. If you are appearing for your final examination in the Bachelor's course, you can also apply.
Candidates who have qualified for the JAM written test for Master's are invited to apply.
There are two forms available. One is meant for both the MS courses and the Ph.D. programs, and the other form is meant for the Integrated Ph.D. program.
For the MS and Ph.D. Program:
Candidates must keep a copy of the HSC (10+2) mark sheet, Bachelor's mark sheets and the details of GATE /GPAT/ JEST /UGC - CSIR - NET-JRF/ ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF/ INSPIRE –JRF, at hand before proceeding with the online application.
Note: There’s no fee required to apply for these programs.

Application fee: Pay through a Demand Draft of INR. 500/- drawn in favor of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, payable at Bangalore and send it to the below-mentioned address via post. One must quote the application number and the area(s) of research. One Demand Draft (non-refundable) is sufficient for multiple choice of areas.

Selection will be done through the Joint Admission Test (JAM) for Master’s and/or JNCASR’s written test, followed by an Interview at Bangalore.
Only the shortlisted candidates will appear for the Interview, which can take place on the same day as the screening process.Master of Science [M.S] (Research)
Selection will be subject to excellent academic background score/percentile/rank obtained in national fellowship exams. Followed by an Interview.
The overall selection will be based on the candidate’s rank as well as his/her performance in the interview.
