Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University is a state university located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India established 1964.  PTRSU is recognized by UGC ,accredited as a “B” grade University by NAAC and has been give 46th NRF rank by MHRD.The University has 41 affiliated colleges and  offers a range of education in professional and academic courses  in the faculties of arts,  Science and Technology ,Social Science , Commerce , Education  , Management ,Computer Science etc. The University offers admission to following research program for the year: Read more: PTRSU Admission

Candidates with the relevant PG qualification can register for the above mentioned programmes. The university provides reservation of seats/ relaxation of marks for SC/ST/OBC etc. as per the rules of the Government and norms of the university.

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the online application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before the last date. Admission to some programmes is done on the basis of merit of the candidate in entrance test.

How To Apply

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before the last date. Candidate can obtain the application form either online or offline

  1. Online mode: candidate can download and obtain the application form the official website: For this mode of application candidate must pay the required amount via Bank Draft for required amount payable to the Registrar, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur
  2. Offline mode: Candidate may obtain the application form from on cash payment of prescribed fee from the university office.

After obtaining the application form, candidate must follow the following steps:

  • After ensuring the eligibility criteria candidate must start filling up the application form manually
  • Attach the  required self-attested  documents  and paste the recent coloured passport size photograph to  the application form
  • Submit the application form to the office of the University either in person or by Post /Courier.
  • Candidate must keep the Xerox of application form for future reference.

Candidates are directed to submit the self-attested copies of the following documents along with application form

  • Domicile Certificate & other weightage claim certificate.
  •  Caste Certificate, wherever applicable.
  • Certificate showing date of birth.
  •  Mark sheet/Certificate of the qualifying examination.


  • Application fee: Rs.400/- (Rs. Four hundred only)
  • The application fee is non-refundable
  • Candidate can download their admit cards from the university website.

  1. Candidate should have obtained  post - graduation degree  in the concerned or related discipline with at least second division / 50 % marks / equivalent grade  under (10+2+3
    +2)  pattern from a recognized institute
  2. 5 % relaxation in aggregate marks 3 years relaxation in age will be given to SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Challenged applicants of Chhattisgarh.

 The Kashmiri migrant students will be given the following relaxations :( Ref. - Approved by the MHRD)

  1. Relaxation in cut-off percentage up to 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement.
  2.  Increase in intake capacity up to 5% course-wise.
  3. Reservation of at least one seat in merit quota in technical/ professional institutions.
  4. Waiving off domicile requirements.

Admission Process

Admission to above courses shall be based on the merit to be determined by the entrance examination and interview, provided the candidates fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria.

However, the applicant does not require to appear in the entrance test if he / she fulfils the following conditions:

  • Candidate has qualified U.G.C/ CSIR (JRF) Examination/ NET/ SLET/ GATE/ is a Teacher Fellowship holder.
  • Candidate has Passed M.Phil./M.E./ from statutory University.
  • Candidate has having 5 years regular (unconditional approval) teaching experience at U.G. /P.G. level.
  • Research Scholars /Person/Senior Citizens with exceptional abilities and has passed Graduate Degree Examination with 55% of Marks and with 15 years’ experience after graduation in related field (subject to discretion of Vice-chancellor).

Such candidates a have only to qualify in the interview conducted by the University

The entrance test shall be based on General Aptitude, Language, Information and Communication and the subject at master’s level. The detailed information regarding the syllabus is given on the university website:


The candidates who are selected in the entrance examination are required to participate in the interview/counselling process. Such candidates are directed to bring the application form, photocopies and the originals of the attached documents for the purpose of verification  viz:

  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Conduct Certificate.
  • Original mark sheet for verification.
  • Eligibility Certificate, if required.
  • Migration Certificate, if required.
  • NOC from the Employer in case of in service candidate



The university has several provisions to provide scholarships to the candidates who are undergoing various courses offered by the university. The university offers the following scholarships:

  • Financial assistance in the form of reimbursement of tuition fees as per rules of State and Central Government for SC/ST/OBC candidates
  • Students studying in School of Studies and also having brother / sisters studying in School of Studies have the facility to pay full fee only by the eldest one and remaining members have to pay half fee as per rules of the Scholarships given by the state government/ GOI
  • Merit scholarships

Placement Cell:

The University has a full-fledged Placement Cell which provides essential information and guidance to the students of the Campus for their employment opportunity. Various reputed companies visit the university campus every year and provide placement and internships to a number of candidates in the reputed companies/NGO The placement cell is in the Administrative Building of the University in the year 2012. Dr. Ninad Bodhankar, Professor, School of Studies in Geology is the In-charge of this Cell.

Note: The university does not guarantee the placement of the bonafied candidate of the University.


The university provides hostel facility to the deserving candidates. Hostel facility is available separately for males and females. The university provides mess, accommodation and various other recreational facilities to the candidates in the various hostel blocks of the university. 12 % seats are reserved for SC students, 32% for ST students and 14% for OBC.

Desirous and eligible candidates can apply for hostel facility, however separate charges are to be paid for the same.
