  • IMT Hyderabad offers admissions in General Management, Finance and Marketing under its PGDM course structure and Executive program in Management for working professionals. 
  • Shortlisting of candidates is done on the basis of admission tests cores (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT).

Application Process

Candidates willing to apply to PGDM program at IMT Hyderabad, can do so by visiting the official website of the institute. The application process is online. There is a common application process for all four campuses of IMT. While applying a candidate must keep in mind the campuses they wish to apply for. 

Applicants need to give all the required information like Name, Educational Qualification, Contact Details, ID for CAT or ID for XAT or ID for GMAT or Roll no. for CMAT.  The application fee for PGDM courses at IMT is INR 2000. Applicants can pay the application fee by Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking/ Demand Draft.

After filling the form, applicants can pay the fee in the online mode itself. They can do so by using a valid Credit or Debit Card or through Net Banking. Once the payment is complete, the application form number will be displayed. The candidate must note down this application form number for future reference. The final application form will also be available on the admission portal for download. Applicants can also check Application form status on the IMT admission portal.

Candidates willing to pay the application fee through a Demand Draft, must have the details of the Demand Draft before they begin filling the application form. A candidate must mention their name, application number, and phone number on the reverse side of the demand draft. The steps for submission of demand draft is given below:

  1. After successful submission of filled in the application form, a copy of the submitted form will be displayed on the website with a “tear off” sheet.
  2. Take a printout of the application form along with the “tear off” sheet.  
  3. Sign the “tear off” sheet and paste a recent colored passport size photograph on the sheet.
  4. Send the completed “tear off” sheet with the Demand Draft on the address mentioned on the sheet.

The candidate should retain the remaining part of the application form with them for future reference.

Selection Process

After the application process is over, the institute will prepare a shortlist of candidates on the basis of marks scored in CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT exam. In case a candidate has appeared in more than one exam mentioned here, then the institute will consider the best score out of the given tests.

The shortlisted candidates will then be called for selection process rounds. The Selection process rounds consist of:

  1. Critical Thinking Test

Critical Thinking Test will be of 30 minutes duration and test a candidate on their critical thinking abilities, Communication skills, and Innovation and creativity.

  1. Group Exercise

Group Exercise will be of roughly 30 minutes. In this, candidates will be divided in small groups and given a task or a problem to solve as a group. It could be anything from case-study, to solving a puzzle or a business problem. This test will analyze a candidate on their leadership skills, interpersonal skills, contribution of ideas, and communication and attitude.

  1. Personal Interview

After Group Exercise, each candidate will be called for a Personal Interview which will be of approximately 15 minutes. In Personal Interview, a candidate will be evaluated on their domain knowledge, communication skills, versatility, and general awareness and maturity. Candidates with work experience will also be assessed on the relevance of their work experience to the PGDM program.
