Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) PG Admission 2019: Admit Card, Entrance Exam, Time Table, Result

Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya,(RGPV) is a University which is located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The University is affiliated to most of the Technical colleges of Madhya Pradesh.

RGPV offers various courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. The admissions for these courses are done through a counseling procedure.

Students seeking admission in ME/ M.Tech courses offered by the University can get admission on the basis of GATE or through performance in Qualifying Examination. The application for GATE generally opens in September followed by the exam in February. While, for M.Pharma, students can appear for GPATor can get admission through their performance in the Qualifying Examination.

  • Students who want to pursue M.E./M.Tech. from RGPV must have a degree in B.Tech. in the relevant discipline and should have completed their education in 10+2+4 pattern.
  • A valid score in GATE is also accepted by the university.

Eligibility: Students who want to take admission in M.Arch. should have done B.Arch. with 50% marks minimum.

Students seeking admission in any of the Postgraduate courses offered by the University need to have passed their Higher Secondary Examination from a recognized Board/ Council.

They also must have completed their Graduation in the concerning subject/ Field. Also, students in their final year can apply for GATE/ GPAT, provided that they meet the eligibility criteria at the time of the counseling.

How To Apply


Students seeking admission to any of the PG courses offered by the University need to apply for the same by following the steps mentioned below:

  • In case, students are seeking admission on the basis of their performance in GATE/ GPAT, then they need to apply for GATE/ GPAT followed by the Counseling procedure.
  • However, the students who are seeking admission on the basis of their Qualifying examination, need to directly apply for the Counseling Procedure.
  • The application for the same can be found online at Students need to fill the whole application form with correct information and valid contact details. After the registration, login credentials are created. These login credentials need to be kept carefully for future use.
  • Students appearing in GATE, need to apply for the same by filling an application form available online at the official GATE website. Basic details are to be filled and images of Photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression are to be uploaded.
  • Finally, students need to pay the Application fee (INR 1500 for General/ OBC Male students and INR 750 for rest) in order to successfully complete their application. Further, students are expected to download their admit cards as per the schedule.

Admission Process


Admissions are done through a counseling procedure. Selections are done in two ways. One based on GATE/ GPAT Exam and other based on Qualifying Exam. The students seeking admission need to register for the counseling procedure as per the schedule.

Students can check their Counseling status, Merit list and other important information regarding admission by logging into their account. Further, a Common Merit List is announced, after which the students are provided with Allotment Letters.

All the selected students need to download the Allotment Letter and they also need to pay the Pre-Admission fees. Students then need to report to the Counseling venue along with the following documents for documents verification.

  • GATE/ GPAT Rank/ Score Card, if applicable.
  • Class 10 and 12 Mark sheet.
  • Degree Certificate and Mark sheets.
  • Category Certificate, if applicable.
  • Domicile Certificate, if applicable.
  • Character certificate.
  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Income Certificate, if applicable.


  • Reservations are applicable at the time of admission as per the MP Government norms. Relaxation of marks is also provided to some of the students.
  • All SC/ ST/ PC candidates of Madhya Pradesh can avail the reservation facility at the time of admission.
