The University invites aspirants to offer admission in Post Graduate Courses under Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts & Faculty of Visual Arts. Last date for submission of application form and the commencement classes will be scheduled after the admission process is complete.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be graduated with an Honors degree or its equivalent (10+2+3) under any institute recognized by UGC in the concerned subject for applying in the course.
  • Candidates on a break of study for more than 2 years are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates opting for Human Rights and Human Development. Students having a minimum score of 50%, with a relaxation of up to 10% for reserved categories in the Honors course concerned with Social Science are eligible to apply.

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib]

Duration: 1 Year

Eligibility :Candidates must be graduated with Honors/ Master’s degree (10+2+3 pattern) from any UGC recognized University, followed by a degree in Bachelor of Library and Information Science.

Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Applied Arts) , Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Graphics) & Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (History of Arts)

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed in BFA with 45% marks.


How To Apply

Master of Arts [MA] (Bengali) , Master of Arts [MA] (Economics) & Master of Arts [MA] (Education)

Candidates must fill up the Online Application Form with valid and complete information in order to carry forward the verification process.

Step 1: User ID & Registration:

  • Candidates must register themselves through their e-mail ID and passwords by filling up the required information. After the registration a verification link will be sent to the e-mail ID.
  • Click on the link for verification of e-mail ID. After the verification, students can login through their ID and proceed for the application form for admission.

Step 2: Online Application Form:

  • Students must fill up the online application form, providing complete and valid information.
  • After the filling up of the form, go through all the provided information once to correct any information, if necessary.

Step 3: Photo and Signature Upload:

  • Students must upload a recent passport size colored photograph (size 100kb) and signature in JPEG format.
  • Once the application process is complete, an application page will be displayed on the screen. Students are advised to print the page.

Fee Payment Process:

Students have to follow the given step by step process to submit the application fee in order to secure admission in the desired subject:

  • Students must login to the University portal with their e-mail ID and password. Click the payment button where the site is directed to the SBI Collect Portal.
  • Students may proceed with the terms and conditions by clicking on the check box. Further fill up the required information given in the option box and click the submit button.
  • Select “Application Processing Fees”. Further the students have to fill up the required information and choose the payment option: Online or Offline.
  • In Online mode- Payment of Rs.200/- excluding bank charges has to be made.
  • In Offline mode- A preprinted challan will be generated that has to be submitted to the SBI branch.
  • After successful payment, students must download the application page for admission processes.


Admission Process

MA

Certain norms under the RBU panel have been conducted for the admission process in the M.A. course:-

  1. For courses other than Human Rights and Human Development, selection procedure is based purely on merit basis.
  2. Candidates must have a minimum score of 50% in their H.S. (or equivalent) examinations (full score will be considered)
  3. For candidates having a graduation degree in Honors, they must have a minimum score of 50% in their examinations.
  4. The final merit list will be prepared based on the final sum of the two above mentioned scores.
  5. Candidates belonging to Open Universities or opting for Human Rights and Human Development course have to appear for an admission test for selection in their preferred courses.

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib]

Candidates for the course of the department of Library and Information Science are selected precisely on the basis of final written examination, practical examination and projects, survey report, assignment etc. and viva-voce by external experts in the relevant field.


Reservation

Seat Reservation For MFA :

  • As per the Govt. rules, there is the separate allocation of seats for the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC).
  • The University reserves separate seats for Foreign / NRI/ Kashmiri migrant students against a higher tuition fees under UGC guidelines.
  • Candidates under Sports quota can apply only in the subjects under the Faculty of Arts
