Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) PG Admissions 2020: Course, Fees, Result, Login, Entrance Exams

Jamia Milia Islamia had started it’s 2020 Admission process for MBA,, MCA, M.Sc, LL.M, MFA, MPT and M.Ed, and M.Arch programs by releasing the online application forms.

The forms will be made available on the University’s website, the candidates must pay INR. 700/- via Credit/Debit card or Net Banking.

For PG courses, the candidates must have completed their UG program under relevant streams from an acknowledged university with a minimum score of 60% or 6 CGPA.

The application forms were released on the 14th of March 2020 and the last date to apply for Jamia Milia Islamia PG Courses was on April 29, 2020.

Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI): Eligibility Criteria

The candidates seeking admission must have a B.A./B.Sc. or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with at least 45% marks aggregate OR 50% marks in the subject concerned.

All candidates who seek admission to any of the JMI's offered courses have to appear for an Entrance Test that is conducted by JMI. The entrance test may or may not be followed by an interview. The decided syllabus along with the admit cards of the registered students are made available on the University's website.

The entrance tests for most of the Postgraduate courses are conducted on the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Although some of the courses have their entrance exam conducted in multiple cities. These courses are:

  • M.A. - Economics/Human Resource Management/Social Work/Political Science/English
  • M.C.A.
  • M.Com. – Business Management
  • M.B.A. – Full Time/ International Business
  • M.Sc. – Biosciences/Biotechnology/Physics/Chemistry (material, organic, inorganic and physical)
  • M.Tech – Electronics and Communication/Mechanical/Computer Engineering/Control and Instrumentation System
  • Diploma in Engineering

The exam for these courses can be given in any of the following cities:

The interviews will only be conducted at JMI campus, Delhi.

Exam Pattern:

  • The test will be based on the subject opted by the candidate.
  • For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
  • The candidates who obtain less than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the entrance test won’t be shortlisted for the interview.

If two or more candidates secure equal marks in the entrance exam, the following procedure shall be used as a tie-breaker:

  • For most of the programs, the first preference is given to the older candidates.
  • For interview programs, the candidates with a higher score in the written component of the entrance exam are given a higher rank.

General Guidelines:

  1. The selection is based on the rank/marks scored by the candidate in an Entrance Test conducted by JMI.
  2. The entrance test may or may not be followed by an interview.
  3. The candidates have to score at least 40% marks to be eligible for selection.
  4. The allotment of seats will be according to JMI's Admission Procedure.
  5. A list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be available on JMI's notice board as well as on their website.
  6. The selected candidates will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities.
  7. The selected candidates have to bring their admit cards of the entrance test, along with originals and self-attested copies of the following documents at the time of the interview:
  • Proof of passing the qualifying exam along with mark sheets.
  • 10+2 or equivalent exam's marksheet
  • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School's marksheet)
  • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if applicable)
  • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
  • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group
  • In case of gap period, a certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behavior
  • Proof of address along with name and location of the nearest police station
  • Certificate of No Objection by current employer (for evening/part-time/Sponsored courses)
  1. Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.

Note: Self-employed candidates have to show authentic evidence of self-employment.

Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI): How to Apply

To register, the candidates must visit the university’s official website.

  1. Register with a valid mobile number and email id.
  2. Select the course of your choice.
  3. Proceed to fill the form online.
  4. Select the city for the entrance test.
  5. Verify the details and submit the form.
  6. Upload a scanned copy of a recent passport-sized photo and signature in specified dimensions.
  7. Application fee of INR. 700/- can be paid online through NetBanking or Debit/Credit card
  8. It can also be paid through cash at any State Bank of India branch by downloading the challan from the admission portal.
  9. The candidates are not required to upload any certificate etc.
  10. The following details are mandatory to be ready with the candidates before filling the form:
  • E-mail ID
  • Mobile Number
  • Scanned Photo
  • Scanned Signature
  • Credit/Debit Card (in case of online payment)

Note: When paying through debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.

The scanned signature must be either in black or blue ink on a white sheet. Both the scanned photograph and signature must be in “jpeg” format.

Admit Cards

The university will notify the candidates regarding the release of the Admit Cards. The applicants must carry their Admit Cards along with a valid Identity Proof on the day of the examination.

Hi Kahkashan, sorry but you are not eligible for this course as candidate must have done graduation in relevant stream to be eligible for this course.
