Established in 1969, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a public central university, located in New Delhi. The university has earned a grade of 3.9 out of 4 from NAAC, the highest grade awarded to any educational institution in the country and is considered among the top universities in the country. JNU has 10 Schools and four special centres which offer Undergraduate (BA Hons.), PG (MBA, MA, M.Sc, MCA) and several integrated research courses. Check JNU Admission

JNU has also introduced a PG program in Management 2020. JNU MBA program is a full-time course for the duration of two years. A bachelor’s degree with 60% marks (55% for OBC and 45% for SC/ST/PwD) is the minimum eligibility requirement. CATqualified candidates are only eligible to apply. All MBA admissions will be managed by ‘JNU Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME)’.

The university offers the following PG programs in multiple disciplines:

  • Master of Arts (MA)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  • Master of Business Administration(MBA)

Selection of the candidates to MA, MSc and MCA programs will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, conducted by the university. Candidates can register themselves for JNU Entrance Exam 2020 by submitting the application fee of Rs. 300/- through online payment modes or offline method i.e. demand draft (DD).Also Check JNU MA and M.Sc Cutoff

JNU MA, M.Sc, MCA & MBA Application Process

Online Application:

  • Candidates can register themselves for JNU Admission to M.Sc, MA, MCA & MBA programme through online application process available at the official university website.
  • Application fee of INR 300 (INR 2000 for MBA Gen. category and INR 1000 for SC/ST/ PwD) should also be submitted along with completed applications through the online payment modes such as net banking, credit/ debit card etc.

Offline Application:

  • Candidates can also request for the application form to be sent by post along with the prospectus by sending Crossed Demand Draft of INR 300 (INR 2000 for MBA Gen. category and INR 1000 for SC/ST/ PwD ) along with the self-addressed envelope.
  • DD should be drawn in favour of "Jawaharlal Nehru University", payable at New Delhi and the letter should clearly indicate the program of study for which the Application Form is required
  • Natives of Nepal can also obtain the prospectus and application form by sending demand draft of amount Rs. 400/- or equivalent in USD
  • Duly filled-in applications, in all respects, along with the copies of all the necessary enclosures should reach through registered post/ speed post at the following address:

Enclosures:

  1. Two self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher Secondary Pre-University of Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination certificate, showing the age/date of birth of the candidate
  2. A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
  3. Two self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate in Senior School or their equivalent examination
  4. SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if belonging to SC/ST/OBC category
  5. A Medical Certificate for PWD Candidates certifying nature & percentage of disability issued by the competent medical authority
  6. Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended.

M.A. Arts and AestheticsCandidates must possess bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 patterns from this university or any other recognized university with at least 50% marks.
M.A. PoliticsCandidates must possess bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 patterns from this university or any other recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks.
M.A. Economics

Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in the following subjects: Economics (Honours) with mathematics as subsidiary subject; OR mathematics (Honours) with economics as subsidiary subject OR statistics (Hons) with mathematics and economics as subsidiary subjects from this university or any other recognized university with 50% aggregate marks.

Candidate who have passed any other bachelor’s degree with economics and mathematics as subjects with at least 60% marks are also eligible to apply.

MA (German)Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern from this university or any other recognized university with at least 50% marks and adequate proficiency in German

Reservation

27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer), 15% & 7.5% of seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates respectively in all programs of study, 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates

JNU MA, M.Sc, MCA & MBA Admission Process

  • Selection of the candidate to M.Sc, MCA and MA (Except Foreign languages) is done on the basis of written entrance examination, conducted by the university.
  • Admission for MA (Foreign languages) programme is done on the basis of written entrance exam (70%) and viva-voice (30%), both conducted by the university.
  • CAT qualified candidates are only eligible for admission to MBA program.

JNU MBA Selection Process 2020

Final admission to JNU MBA program is a three-stage process. Whole criteria is discussed below:

Stage 1: Preliminary Shortlisting

1. Apply online for JNU MBA program from the official website along with a valid CAT score.

2. List of shortlisted candidates (on the basis of CAT score) will be displayed on JNU website.

Stage 2: Interview Round

1. Shortlisted candidates need to appear in an interview round on the mentioned dates.

Stage 3: Final Selection

1. Final admission is subject to candidates’ performance in CAT and Interview round.

2. 70% weightage will be given to the CAT score while 30% to Interview round.

3. The list of finally selected candidates will be published on the official JNU portal.

Seat Booking: Selected candidates have to confirm their seat by booking it on the official website of ‘JNU Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ABVSME)’.

Hi Amardeep, candidates applying for this course must have scored at least 55% in their graduation degree. However, admission will be based on the following criteria:

  1. in the written examination,
  2. in the viva voce (wherever prescribed), and
  3. after incorporating the Deprivation Points, wherever applicable.

Hi Apurva, M.Sc Zoology is not offered in the university. You can apply for M.Sc in Environmental Science or Life Science provided you have scored at least 55% in your graduation degree.

Hi Shaniya, as per qualification, you are eligible for the course but only CAT qualified candidates will be considered eligible to apply for admission in MBA. However, admission process consists of three stages as explained below:
