Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences was established in the year 1887 which was a result of the amalgamation of Hyderabad school and Madarsa-i-Aliya. Nizam’s is the most reputed and oldest institution imparting higher education in South India. Nizam’s was affiliated to the Madras University for around 60 years and after that it was made a Constituent College of Osmania University on February 19th in the year 1947.
NIMSoffers various courses and invites application for MHM and P.G. Diploma (full time/part time) courses for the year 2020.
NIMS is inviting applications for MHM and P.G. Diploma (full time/part time) courses. The eligibility criteria for students who are seeking admission in MHM courses is Medical (or) P.G. Diploma in Paramedical Courses (or) Non-Medical Graduates.
The students who are seeking admission in P.G. Diploma (full time) courses must have a B. Sc. degree in any Science subject or Life Sciences, and students seeking admission in P.G. Diploma (part time) courses must have a Bachelors degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Life Sciences. The minimum percentage for the P.G. Diploma (part time) courses is 50%.
Eligible and interested students are to download the MHM and P.G. Diploma (Full time/Part time) admission application form from the university website www.nims.edu.in.
Next, the students are required to send the correctly filled application form along with a DD in favour of “Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences”. Students can also pay the application fee on the cash counter of the institution and submit application and cash receipt together. The DD for the MHM courses will be of INR 1,100/-.
The DD for the P.G. Diploma full time courses will be amounts to INR 3,000/- which will be in favour of NIMS University Jaipur, which will be payable at Jaipur and in case the application form is to be sent by post then the DD should be amounting to INR 3,200/-.
The DD for the PGDCLR (Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research) courses should be amounting to INR 1,000/- in favour of “Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.
Once the candidates have filled the application form and completed the other formalities, they must send it by post on the following address; Associate Dean, Aptitude Testing, 2nd Floor, Old OPD Block, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad- 500 082.
The DD or the NIMS cash receipt must have the name of the candidate, and the course name that the candidate has applied for.
MHM Course- Master of Hospital Management:
TheCourse duration is 2 years plus 6 months internship.
Candidates who wish to seek admission in MHM courses need to hold a degree in any Medical/Non- Medical courses.
The minimum age for admission is 20 years and the candidate should not be elder than 30 years.
Upper age limit can be relaxed upto 3 years for SC/ST candidates. Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience in medical field.
P.G Diploma Para Medical Courses:
The eligibility of 2 years PG Diploma Para Medical Courses is as follows:
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates seeking admission in any courses under P.G. Diploma Full time must hold a degree of B.Sc. in any Science subject or Life Sciences.
P.G. Diploma Part Time:
Duration of the course will be 12 months and the eligibility is mentioned below:
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have passed Bachelors degree with Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, with a minimum of 50% marks will be eligible for admission in PGDCLR. A candidate who has a post graduation degree or has experience in Clinical Research will be given preference during admissions.
85% seats are reserved for local candidates and the remaining 15% seats are reserved for both local and non-local candidates.
BC (A): 7%, BC (B): 10%, BC (C): 1%, BC (D): 7%, BC (E): 4%, ST: 6% and SC: 15%. Total 50% seats are reserved for the BC/SC/ST.
33.3% seats are reserved for women candidates in each course available.
5% seats are available for the NIQ Quota
60% seats are available for the students who had commerce as a subject and are seeking admission in B.Com. Rest of the 40% seats are reserved for both Commerce and Non-Commerce streams.
Reservation is given to the candidates falling in the category that includes
NCC: 2%, Games and Sports: 2%, Extra-curricular activities: 1%, Children of Ex-servicemen and Armed Personnel: 1% and physically challenged: 3%.

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the entrance test.
The result for the entrance test will be displayed on the institute’s website www.nims.edu.in
Candidates who qualify the entrance exam will be called for the interview/ oral aptitude test.
All other fee is to be confirmed and paid before the admission.
Candidates are required to submit the original documents.
The in-services candidates, who cannot deposit the original certificates at the time of admissions, shall submit the Xerox copy of the original documents duly attested by the NIMS controlling authorities.
