University of Hyderabad (UOH) MPA,MPH and MFA Admission 2020: Courses, Application Process, Entrance Exam, Admission

University of Hyderabad (UOH) offers admission to the following programs: 

  • MPA(Master of Performing Arts)
  • MFA(Master of fine arts)
  • MPH(Master of Public health)

To apply for the above-mentioned courses, the candidates must apply via the online application available on the university’s website. They must submit the application along with the registration fees of- 

  • INR. 550/- for the general category
  • INR. 500/- for the EWS category
  • INR. 350/- for the OBC category
  • INR. 250/- for SC/ST category

Only candidates with the relevant qualification can register for the above-mentioned programs. Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH/ Seats are reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/BC/PH etc. as well as special categories viz. Differently-abled /Wards/Dependants of defence personnel/ Kashmiri migrants/ Foreign Nationals/ NRIs.

Few seats are also provided to the nominees from some Union Territories/North-Eastern states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ST/PH categories etc. in accordance with the rules of the government of India/UGC. 

Candidates can register for admission by filling in the online application form and submitting the required processing fee. Admission to the above programs is done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the written test and interview.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, AYUSH, Homeopathy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing ,Nutrition, Pharmacology, Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences/any other science  degree.
  • Candidates possessing Arts/Humanities degree with an interest in Public Health are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates need to qualify the written test and interview.

Admission Process

MPH – Admission will be based on a written test. The test will be based on XII Board Syllabus and it’ll comprise of 100 objective type questions on topics related to Medical and Social Sciences.

M.F.A – Admission will be granted on the basis of eligibility and the selected students must provide evidence of training or practice in visual arts at the time of the oral interview by bringing sketchbooks, artworks or photographs of their original artworks.

Eligible candidates will be considered for the on-campus Entrance Test and Admission for MFA in Painting/Print Making/Sculpture. The written test will comprise of OMR and essay type questions.

M.P.A – Eligible candidates must write an entrance examination of a two-hour duration, consisting of objective type questions on topics related to theatre and culture.
Qualified candidates will be called for an audition/interview at the University, where they need to write a descriptive and analytical essay as one of the given topics to their experience in theatre.

For the audition/interview, candidates are expected to come prepared to discuss a full-length play of their choice and also perform a dramatic passage from a play of their preference in a language of their choice.

Candidates who fail in the audition/interview cannot be selected irrespective of the marks secured in the written exam. Any additional talents like music, dance, martial arts, drawing, etc., will be added advantage.

How To Apply

Candidates must apply for admission by filling in and submitting the completed online application. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled in with the relevant information.

Candidate should log on to the university’s official website and follow the given steps:

  1. Fill the application form online with the necessary information.
  2. Upload the necessary scanned documents.
  3. Candidate must preserve the registration number generated during the online filling of the application form.
  4. Note: without the generation of registration no. the registration process is incomplete.
  5. Pay the application fee via available payment modes.
  6. Submit the application form online
  7. Download the hall ticket.
  8. Candidate must keep the Xerox copy of the completed applications for subsequent use

  4. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  5. Certificates for Special categories, if required     
  6. Nativity Certificate if required   
  7.  Date of Birth Certificate (SSC / ICSE / CBSE).

For MFA in Painting/Printmaking/Sculpture – In addition to the online application, the candidates must send 15 self-attested photographs of recent works in a sealed envelope to the following address:

The sealed envelopes must entail the following information:

  1. Name of the candidate
  2. Hall Ticket Number
  3. Name of Institution
  4. Candidate must specify the choice of stream/discipline on priority basis on the envelope
  5. Painting/Print Making/Sculpture

Reservation of Seats

  • 15% of seats in each course are reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
  • 7.5% of seats are reserved for those belonging to the category of Scheduled Tribes.
  • 27% of the seats are reserved for OBC (non-creamy layer category) candidates.
  • 10% of the seats are reserved for EWSs candidates.
  • 5% of seats are reserved for the Persons with Disability.
  • 5% of seats are reserved for the wards/dependents of Defence Personnel.
  • 2 seats are reserved specifically for candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir.
