Students looking for admission must possess MD/DNB degree either in Medicine or Paediatrics from a Medical Council of India recognized college.

Candidates must possess a degree in MD Internal Medicine from this university or any other reputed university.

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualification for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
Candidates must possess Master’s degree in (M.Sc. / M.A. / M.Tech. / LL.M. / M.Ed. / MBA/ MCA) or post graduation degree approved by Association of Indian Universities or AICTE or UGC or equivalent qualification in relevant field with not less than 55% marks.
Students who belong to SC/ST or person with disability category must secure 50% marks or as according by UGC from time to time.
Candidate with MD/MS or MBBS degree with minimum three years of experience in the government hospital with 55% or more aggregate marks are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have already cleared national level examinations like CSIR/ UGC-NET-JRF/ Lectureship, DBTJRF, ICMR-JRF, or equivalent fellowship are exempted from the university written test and can directly appear for interview.
Foreign national candidates are also eligible to apply after submitting application fee, attested copies of certificates, passport and documents regarding admission to the Director of International Affairs.

Students can get the application form from the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”.
Students are advised to submit the application form along with common entrance test fees of Rs. 1000/- excluding processing charges and taxes. Fees should pay online through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash payment in any branch of Indian Bank.
Separate application forms should be submitted for each programme. Incomplete application form will be rejected and no request will be entertained afterwards.
If documents found to be forged at the time of admission then university have rights to cancel the seat of the candidate. There will be no rounding-off for the percentage of marks of qualifying examination.
If candidate once submitted his/her details then they have to re-register in case they need to change any personal information. University can add or remove any programme from the list of the programmes.
IPU entrance exam is a university level examination which held every year. University will only display the ranks of those candidates who are qualified entrance test CET.
Candidates are advised to take the printout of CET application form as proof of application. Candidates should upload the filled in application forms and following enclosures through online mode only.

UGC-NET-JRF is a National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted to determine the eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian Nationals.
Counselling process for DM and M.Ch
University conducted counselling in two ways i.e. offline and online counselling. Offline counselling is further divided into two categories i.e. first and second counselling. Both the counselling procedures are discussed as below:
First offline counselling
Schedule of counselling will be displayed on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in” for the qualified candidates.
Candidates should attend the counselling on the scheduled date and time along with all the documents.
To attend the counselling candidates need to submit counselling processing fees of Rs. 1000/- which is non-refundable.
Candidates will be called for counselling according to the rank in the merit list along with the required documents for verification.
If the candidate fails to appear on the notified venue, time and date for counselling, then they should have no claim for the seat.
At the time of counselling fees should be paid immediately otherwise seat will be allotted to the next candidate
Candidates are not allowed to change programme during first counselling but they can change it during second counselling by depositing the additional amount of INR 5000/- in the form of DD in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University payable at Delhi
University stops admission or counselling, once if the seats get filled up.
Conversion of the reserved seats for SC, ST, DEF, PH, Minority, etc. to General Category will be done only after the completion of last round of counselling for the reserved category.
