Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is also recognised as Indraprastha University. It offers postgraduate (M.Ch and D.M) course and research Ph.D. course. Application forms will be made available by the university.

University offers 4 D.M courses, 4 M.Ch courses and 27 Ph.D. courses. Programmes offered in the university i.e. (M.Ch and D.M) are for a period of 3 years.

Candidates can apply for (M.Ch, and D.M) courses after clearing the IPUCET Common Entrance Test conducted by the University or should possess rank in the merit list of qualifying degree examination. For admission in the Ph.D. degree candidates should clear UGC-NET-JRF examination.

The Application is an online process and candidates can get application forms from the university website. The last date for submission of all the application forms for Ph.D. and for D.M. & M.Ch.

DM in Cardiology

  1. Candidates having the degree in M.D/D.N.B General Medicine / Paediatrics / Respiratory Medicine from a Medical Council of India recognized college are eligible to apply for admission.
  2. Students who did not cross the age of 35 years are eligible to apply.

DM in Neurology

  1. Students looking for admission must possess MD/DNB degree either in Medicine or Paediatrics from a Medical Council of India recognized college.

Those students are also eligible to apply who are waiting for their result before admission.

DM in Nephrology

  1. Candidates must possess a degree in MD Internal Medicine from this university or any other reputed university.
  2. Students should possess M.D. degree in Medicine or Paediatrics of this university or any other equivalent degree recognised by MCI.

DM in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Students looking for admission must possess MD degree in (General Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine / Paediatrics / Chest) or DNB degree (General Medicine/ PM/ Paediatrics / Chest) from recognised university

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualification for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

  • Candidates must possess Master’s degree in (M.Sc. / M.A. / M.Tech. / LL.M. / M.Ed. / MBA/ MCA) or post graduation degree approved by Association of Indian Universities or AICTE or UGC or equivalent qualification in relevant field with not less than 55% marks.
  • Students who belong to SC/ST or person with disability category must secure 50% marks or as according by UGC from time to time.
  • Candidate with MD/MS or MBBS degree with minimum three years of experience in the government hospital with 55% or more aggregate marks are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have already cleared national level examinations like CSIR/ UGC-NET-JRF/ Lectureship, DBTJRF, ICMR-JRF, or equivalent fellowship are exempted from the university written test and can directly appear for interview.
  • Foreign national candidates are also eligible to apply after submitting application fee, attested copies of certificates, passport and documents regarding admission to the Director of International Affairs.
  • Candidates should not have completed age of 55 years at the time of admission

Note:

  • Candidates should be Indian Citizen.
  • Candidates passed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from distance education mode can also apply for admission.
  • SC/ST/OBC category candidates will get relaxation in age of maximum 5 years
  • Candidates belong to SC/ST or Persons with Disability will get 5% relaxation of marks in the eligibility.


How To Apply

M.Ch , M.Phil/Ph.D in Computer Applications & M.Phil/Ph.D in Engineering

All the online mode applications will be issued. The online application submission method is explained below:

Online method:

  • Students can get the application form from the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”.
  • Students are advised to submit the application form along with common entrance test fees of Rs. 1000/- excluding processing charges and taxes. Fees should pay online through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash payment in any branch of Indian Bank.
  • Separate application forms should be submitted for each programme. Incomplete application form will be rejected and no request will be entertained afterwards.
  • If documents found to be forged at the time of admission then university have rights to cancel the seat of the candidate. There will be no rounding-off for the percentage of marks of qualifying examination.
  • If candidate once submitted his/her details then they have to re-register in case they need to change any personal information. University can add or remove any programme from the list of the programmes.
  • IPU entrance exam is a university level examination which held every year. University will only display the ranks of those candidates who are qualified entrance test CET.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of CET application form as proof of application. Candidates should upload the filled in application forms and following enclosures through online mode only.

Admission Process

UGC-NET-JRF is a National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted to determine the eligibility for college and university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian Nationals.

Counselling process for DM and M.Ch

University conducted counselling in two ways i.e. offline and online counselling. Offline counselling is further divided into two categories i.e. first and second counselling. Both the counselling procedures are discussed as below:

First offline counselling

  • Schedule of counselling will be displayed on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in” for the qualified candidates.
  • Candidates should attend the counselling on the scheduled date and time along with all the documents.
  • To attend the counselling candidates need to submit counselling processing fees of Rs. 1000/- which is non-refundable.
  • Candidates will be called for counselling according to the rank in the merit list along with the required documents for verification.
  • If the candidate fails to appear on the notified venue, time and date for counselling, then they should have no claim for the seat.
  • At the time of counselling fees should be paid immediately otherwise seat will be allotted to the next candidate
  • Candidates are not allowed to change programme during first counselling but they can change it during second counselling by depositing the additional amount of INR 5000/- in the form of DD in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University payable at Delhi
  • University stops admission or counselling, once if the seats get filled up.
  • Conversion of the reserved seats for SC, ST, DEF, PH, Minority, etc. to General Category will be done only after the completion of last round of counselling for the reserved category.
  • Candidates are allowed to withdraw the admission in the first counselling by submitting the request at the following address:

  • If the request is received on or before the above-mentioned date and time of admission then the admission will be cancelled and fees will be refunded to the candidate after deduction of INR 1000/-.

Second offline counselling

  • Candidates are advised not to pay the second counselling processing fees if they already paid the first counselling fees and vice versa.
  • If candidates got admission in the first counselling then they can also attend the second counselling if they want to change the programme on the basis of merit.
  • After the two rounds of counselling open house counselling will be held only if the seats remain vacant.
  • Counselling fee of INR 1000/- must be paid by all eligible candidates who participate in open house counselling.
  • Only CET qualified candidates will be considered for admission through management quota by producing original admit card for admission.
  • Rest of the counselling procedure remains same as of the first counselling.

Online counselling

  • All the details regarding counselling are available on the university website “www.ipu.ac.in”.
  • Candidates should read the conditions carefully before registering online for admission.
  • Candidates should apply early because the university will not be responsible for any network problems.
  • Candidates have to deposit non-refundable counselling fees of INR 1000/- through Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash payment in any branch of Indian Bank.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of the online fee confirmation receipt with the transaction details.
  • Once the seat allocation for the reserved category is done then the unfilled seats will be converted to the unreserved category in the last round of online counselling.
  • If any CET qualified candidate has not taken admission in the online counselling round then they are eligible to participate in the spot counselling against the available vacant seat.

Document required at the time of counselling should be original and photocopy of the necessary documents which are as following:

  3. Admit card or rank card
  4. Health strength document
  5. Original document of class 10th and 12th (2 photocopies)
