Jamia Millia Islamia B.D.S. and B.P.T. Admissions 2018

Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1920 by Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmud Hasan, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Shri A.M. Khwaja, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Dr. Zakir Husain, etc. at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh). The campus shifted to Delhi in 1925. The University got its 'deemed' status in 1962.

The admissions are based on entrance tests conducted by JMI. For B.D.S., the admission is based on the rank obtained by the candidate in NEET. NEET is conducted by CBSE and is held twice a year. The candidates have to register with JMI as well as NEET for admissions in B.D.S. The last date for the submission of application forms is April 21, 2017

Application forms are available on the University's website. They are to be filled and submitted online only. The seats indicated for each course are the maximum seats. The University may or may not fill all of them. About 50% of the seats are reserved for Muslim categories. Another 5% is booked for internal students.

Both B.P.T. and B.D.S. have an internship period after the completion of course. The duration of the internship is 1 year for B.D.S. and 6 months for B.P.T.

  1. The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board.
  2. The candidate must have English, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as main subjects.
  3. The candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology.
  4. The candidate should have scored at least 50% in the NEET.
  5. The candidate should be 17 years of age as on the 31st December of the applying year.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  1. The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam fro m a recognized Board.
  2. The candidate must have English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology as main subjects.
  3. The candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

How To Apply

  2. The candidates have to fill the form online.
  3. The candidate has to upload a scanned copy of their colored passport sized photo (.jpeg format with size not between 5KB and 20KB) and their signature (Blue/Black ink on white paper with size between 5KB and 10KB).
  4. After filling the form, the candidates have to pay a registration fee of Rs.700/- either by Net Banking/Debit/Credit card or the fees can be paid in cash at any Indian Bank branch by downloading the challan from the admission portal.
  5. The candidates are not required to upload any certificate etc.
  6. The following details are mandatory to be ready with the candidate before filling the form:

  • Credit/Debit Card (in case of online payment)

Note: When paying through debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.

Admission Process

BDS & Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  1. The selection is based on the rank/marks scored by the candidate in an Entrance Test conducted by JMI (for B.P.T.) and NEET (for B.D.S.)
  2. The entrance test may or may not be followed by an interview.
  3. The candidates have to score at least 40% marks to be eligible for selection.
  4. The allotment of seats will be according to JMI's Admission Procedure.
  5. A list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be available on JMI's notice board as well as on their website.
  6. The selected candidates will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities.
  7. The selected candidates are to bring their admit cards of the entrance test, along with originals and self-attested copies of the following documents:
  • Proof of passing qualifying exam along with marksheets.
  • 10+2 or equivalent exam's marksheet
  • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School's marksheet)
  • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if applicable)
  • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
  • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group
  • In case of gap period, certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behavior
  • Proof of address along with name and location of nearest police station
  • Certificate of No Objection by current employer (for evening/part-time/Sponsored courses)

Note: Self employed candidates have to show authentic evidence of self-employment.

  1. Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.
