Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra B.Tech. and B.Arch. Admissions 2020: Cut Off, Application Process, Fees

BIT MESRA offers programs in collaboration with Indian institutes and industry. The institute invites applications from BC-I / BC-II candidates of Jharkhand State in B.Tech. / B.E. Programme and 3 seats in B.Arch. Programme of the Institute at Mesra. The programmes are for a duration of four years and five years respectively. 

The admission to the programme will be based on the Common Rank List obtained in JEE (Main). The Application process will be partly online which must be completed and the completed Application form must be sent to BIT MESRA University.

How To Apply

The Application Forms are to be filled online at the University website and submitted to the university.

Step 1: Visit the University website and click on “Click Here to Apply Online”. A login page will open where you will see 2 options, to register or to login in case you have already registered.

Step 2: Register for the Application Form by filling in the required personal details and the programme you’re applying for. You must use the given username and password for login.

Step 3: Fill in the educational details including the JEE Main rank.

Step 4: Upload your recent colour passport size photograph which should not exceed 5kb in size.

Step 5: Save your Application for future changes or if you have completed the Application, click on “Generate Application Number”.

Step 6: After generation of ‘Application Number’, candidate must click on the link State Bank Collect for payment towards application fee of Rs. 1500 or general and OBC category and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST category, either through net banking, or a debit or credit card.

Step 7: Submityour Application Form and take a print out of the Application Form.

Step 8: You should attach the following enclosures with the Form (You must write your Name and “B.Pharm” on the back of each of the photocopies):

  • Class 10th and Class 12th marks sheet
  • Score Card of JEE (Main)
  • Caste certificate which should be in proper format and signed by the appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO
  • Photo identification
  • One recent colour photograph with your Name and “B.E./B.Tech.” or “B.Arch.” written on the back

Step 9: You should then send the printed copy of the Application Form along with the required enclosures and a copy of the Payment Receipt to the following address:

  • You must have passed the Class 12th Examination from a recognised Board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject.
  • You should also have secured at least 45% marks in case of general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST/PWD category in each of the subjects.
  • You should have appeared in JEE (Main) and must have your Common Rank List (CRL) of up to 100000.
  • Age should not be not more than 25 years in case of general category and 30 years in case of SC/ST/PWD category.


  • You must have adequate proficiency in written & spoken English to cope with the programme as all instruction and examinations will be in English only
  • You must have passed their Class 12th or equivalent from State of Jharkhand and should be BC-I/ BC-II category of Jharkhand State only


The reservation criteria will be based on the policy of the respective state governments in case of state quota seats. For the remaining seats, the reservation criteria will be as follows:

Persons with Disability3%

Up to one seat be allotted to the candidates who are Sons or Daughters of Kashmiri Migrant and who have otherwise have qualified for admissions. 50% seats will be reserved for candidates who have passed their Class 12th qualifying exam from Jharkhand State.

Admission Process

Candidates shall be selected on the basis of merit based on Common Rank List -CRL Rank in JEE (Main), provided that they fulfil the eligibility criterion. They must have rank less than 1, 00,000 for B.E./B.Tech. and less than 20,000 for B.Arch. Programme.

Hi Vinayak, the institute has not declared admission dates for new session. As soon as any official notification gets released, it will be updated here.
