CUSAT Admissions 2020: Admit Card, Application Form, Entrance Exam

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) offers one UG, four Integrated and five PG programme. Generally for all UG and PG courses, the application starts from January month of every year. This year, the Online application for admission to UG and PG programmes has been started from February 07, 2020 (tentative) and it will be closed on February 28, 2020 (tentative). CUSAT CAT exam is conducted by University and it will be held on April 28 and April 29, 2020 (tentative).

In CUSAT, all programmes of CUSAT expect the 3 year evening LLB programme are approved for fee concessions for SC/ST candidates and other Eligible Communities. 50% tuition fee concession will be granted for PWD candidates. Hostel accommodation for around 700 female and 600 male students is available for all UG, PG and Research students.     How to apply for CUSAT UG and PG programmes?

    You can submit application form for UG and PG programmes expect MA Translation in German/Russian only online mode. The registration window has been opened from February 07, 2020 (tentative). Visit CUSAT website for online application. You can not apply for UG and PG programme after February 28, 2020 (tentative). Admissions to all programs except Marine Engineering are based on the CUSAT CAT Rank.

    Application Fee:

    • INR 1000/- For General & OBC Candidates
    • INR 500/- For SC/ST Candidates
    • INR 6000/- For NRI Candidates

    Note: An additional  fee of Rs. 10,000/- is payable by  candidates opting Dubai as Test Centre. 

    How to apply?

    You can apply online for UG and PG programme expect M.A. Translation in German/Russian and after February 28, 2020 (tentative). Visit the official website of CUSAT. You can not change any detail after submission of application form.

    Submit Application Form: The online application submission is a two-stage process.

    • Stage 1: In this stage, you should fill basic personal details such as Name, DOB, email id, mobile number etc. After submitting details, user Id and password will be sent by mail and SMS.
    • Stage 2: In this stage, you should login with the help of user id and password. Now fill all other details required in the online registration form and upload your recent passport size colour photograph and signature.

    Required dimensions and size of photo & signature

    For Photo: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with the file size between 4 KB and 100 KB

    For Signature: 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm with file size between 1 KB and 30 KB

    Make Payment: You can make payment through SBI/SBT Internet Banking or through Challan. You should check your application status after two working days from the date of payment of fee. Last date for fee submission is March 05, 2020 (tentative).

    Note: You can not change any detail after submission of application form.

    Eligibility Criteria for CUSAT UG and PG Programme

    CUSAT offers following 4 years B.Tech programmes:

    • B.Tech. Civil Engineering
    • B.Tech. Computer Science Engineering

    • B.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering
    • B.Tech. Information Technology
    • B.Tech. Safety and Fire Engineering

    • B.Tech. Marine Engineering

    Eligibility Criteria For all disciplines except Marine Engineering

    You must have passed 10+2 in PCM with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% marks in Mathematics separately to apply for B.Tech programme offered by CUSAT.

    B. Tech Instrumentation Technology: You must have passed 10+2 in PCM with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 55% marks in Mathematics separately to apply for B.Tech programme offered by CUSAT.

    B. Tech Naval Architecture & Ship Building: You must have passed 10+2 in PCM with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% marks in Mathematics separately to apply for B.Tech programme offered by CUSAT.

    Note: For all Under Graduate Programmes  (except   Marine Engineering)  the minimum eligibility for SEBC candidates of Kerala State with  Non-Creamy  Layer Status to be considered  under reservation  quota for admission  to B. Tech is minimum 45% marks for Mathematics and 45% marks for Mathematics, Physics and  Chemistry put together in  the qualifying  examination.

    The Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination except for Marine Engineering.

    Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech(Lateral Entry) Programme:

    You must have any three year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks, will be considered for admission to the B.Tech. programme through Lateral Entry Scheme.

    The maximum age prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July of the year of admission.

    The Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination expect marine engineering.

    Special Reservation:

    Physically Challenged: 3% seats are  reserved for physically  challenged  candidates with at least 40% disability for all  B.Tech courses, except B.Tech Marine Engineering,  Mechanical  Engineering,  Naval  Architecture & Ship  Building,  Instrumentation, Polymer Science  & Engineering and Safety & Fire Engineering. One seat  each for all other academic programmes except  M.Sc. (Industrial Fisheries)  is reserved for physically  challenged candidates.

    Blind: Reservation for Blind candidates is applicable only for MA (Hindi) and LLM programmes.

    Note: Candidates belonging to states other than Kerala are not eligible for communal reservation.

    Selection Procedure

    For the Programmes,  B.Tech (regular and lateral entry), 5 year Integrated M.Sc. Photonics, BCom-LLB, BBA-LLB,  LLB, LLM, M IP-PhD,  LLM -PHD, M.FSc and  all  MA, M.Sc. & MCA (regular  &  lateral entry ) Programmes  the rank list  will  be prepared on the basis of the CAT  Scores  obtained  in the CAT Test prescribed for each  Programme  with the exception  in the case of M.Sc. (Industrial Fisheries).

    Note: Admission to B.Tech Lateral Entry Programme will be performed through CUSAT LET 2020 while the application process is same as that for CUSAT CAT 2020.
