Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basara (RGUKT-Basara) was established in 2008 and is located at Basar, Telangana. The college comes under autonomous Institutions specialized in teaching and research sector in Information Technology and engineering. The institution follows the norms and regulations of UGC. The University also provides scholarship facility to those belonging to the economically backward sections of the society. The programmes of the University are offered at two of its campuses, Nazvid Campus and RK Valley Campus.

RGUKT offers an Interdisciplinary Master of Technology (M.Tech.) Programme of 2 years duration including five terms (excluding the five week introductory course). This course has been designed incorporating Advanced Computing Techniques and Tools to suit the people seeking Teaching/Research Career in Computational Engineering competing with world class curricula. The programme will also include AICTE Scholarship / Stipend which will be provided to the GATE qualified candidates as and when received from the AICTE.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You should have passed the B.Tech/B.E Degree Examination with a core branch such as (Computer Science / Electronics/ Mechanical) with a minimum of 60% marks for general category and 55% marks for SC/ST category, in B.Tech/B.E, Intermediate and SSC.
  • You should also have passed the five weeks "Introductory course in computing" with "A" grade or 80% marks (Mandatory) conducted by RGUKT.
  • You should have qualified in GATE.

Application Procedure

You should access the Application Form at the University website.

You should log in and fill the Application Form with the required personal and educational details.

You should attach a recent passport size photograph in the space provided.

Application Fee: You should pay an application fee of Rs.200 for general category and Rs. 150 for SC/ST category, in any nationalized bank through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of

  • The Director, RGUKT( M.Tech Programme) Nuzvid and payable at Nuzvid; or
  • The Director, RGUKT( M.Tech Programme) RK Valley and payable at Idupulapaya

You should use the serial number of the D.D in filling the online application by logging in the RGUKT site.

You must submit the Application Form online, and then take a print out of the final submitted form.

You should send the printout of the Application Form along with original Demand Draft and copies of certificates including GATE score card (Mandatory) to either of the following address:

  • The Administrative Officer, RGUKT-Nuzvid, Mylavaram Road, APIIIT-Nuzvid, Krishna Dt-521202(A.P)
  • The Administrative Officer, RGUKT, RK Valley (Idupulapaya), Kadapa, Pin : 516330 (AP)

Note: You should inscribe on the left side of the mailing cover as "Application form for M.Tech".

Selection Procedure

You will be selected on the basis of your GATE score in order of merit followed by an Interview.

You should also be able to pass the five weeks "Introductory course in computing" with "A" grade or 80% marks (Mandatory) conducted by RGUKT.


85% of the total available seats shall be reserved for the Local Candidates (Sri Venkateswara University region (Districts: Ananthapuram, Chittoor, Kurnool, SPS Nellore and YSR Kadapa), Andhra Pradesh State) and the remaining 15% of the seats are open to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students based on merit.
