University of Calicut offers 24 undergraduate 22 postgraduate programmes. It also offers full time and part time M.Phil. & research programmes. There are 28 postgraduate teaching and research departments.
Admission to the PG Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including PG programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be conducted through Centralized Admission Process (PG CAP).

Note: Non English candidates applying for MA English, admission will be based on Entrance Test.
MA (Other language): 45% in Part II Languages concerned of BA/BSc or 45% in the language main papers in the case of candidates with concerned languages under Part III Patern I or 45% in language main papers in the case of candidates with the concerned language under Part III Pattern II. A weightage of 5% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken concerned language under Part III.
MA (other non language): Minimum marks prescribed for admission to other non language subjects is 45% in Part III Optional subjects of BA/B.Sc.Master of Arts [MA] (English)
You must have 45% marks in Part I English of BA/BSc Examination or 45% marks in English Main papers in the case of candidates with English under Part III Pattern I or 45% marks in English main papers in the case of candidates with English under Part III and II. Candidates will be ranked according to the percentage of marks in part I English or Part III in the case of those who have taken English under Part III whichever is higher.A weightage of 10% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken English under Part III.Master of Arts [MA] (Economics)
You must have 45% marks in BA Economics,Foreign Trade, Development Economics or 70% marks in B.Sc Statistics, Mathematics. A maximum of 30% of the total seats only will be given to the B.Sc candidates.Master of Arts [MA] (Sociology) , Master of Arts [MA] (History) & Master of Arts [MA] (Philosophy)
Candidates who have passed any first degree examination with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III optional subjects.Master of Arts [MA] (Folklore Studies)
You must have any bachelor degree with a minimum of 45% marks from recognized by the UGC/ Calicut University. Those who are having post graduation are also eligible for admission. Appear in entrance test conducted by university is mandatory for this programme.M.Sc & M.Sc (Medicine)

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. programmes:
You must have a B.Sc. Degree in relevant field with at least 50% marks except for M.Sc Bio-Technology (55% marks) and M.Sc. General Bio-Technology (55% marks).Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)

You must have a bachelor degree (10+2+3) with 55% marks in Biotechnology, Bio-informatics, Biochemistry, MicroBiology, Botany, Zoology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry, Bsc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Life Sciences of the University or any other equivalent Degree approved by the University.Master of Science [M.Sc] (Food Science and Technology)
You should have secured at least 50% marks in Part III Optional in any B.Sc Degree and approved by this University with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects in +2 or B.Sc.Level.Master of Science [M.Sc] (Psychology)
Candidates who have opted Psychology as one of the papers in Degree Part III either Main or Sub.Master of Science [M.Sc] (Medical Radiation Physics)

You should have passed B.Com or BBA (BBS) degree of Calicut University or B.Com, BBA, BBM or BBS of any other University or institution in any state recognised by UGC or AICTE with minimum 45% marks.
Calicut University offers two year M.Tech. Nano Science and Technology programme. The university conducts a entrance exam for admission to this programme.
You should have passed M.Sc. degree in Nano Science and Technology/ Physics/ Applied Physics/Materials Science/ Chemistry or Applied chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks. Relaxation in marks for SC/ST or other eligible communities will be given as per rules.Master of Journalism and Mass Communication [MJMC]
You must have a Bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 45% marks from Calicut University or any other University recognised as equivalent by Calicut University. Professional graduates will be considered, if they secure 60% marks in overall subjects. Appear in entrance test conducted by university is mandatory for this programme.
You must have a Bachelors Degree with not less than 50% marks in agreegate of the qulalifying examination from Calciut University or equivalent.
You must have a bachelor's degree in Education with at least 55% Marks of University of Calicut or other Universities recognized by Calicut University. 5% relaxation in marks will be allowed in the case of SEBC candidates and minimum pass is required for SC/ST candidates.MCA

You should have passed three year BPE or one year BP.Ed. of this University or any other University and minimum sports achievements should be a second place in the inter collegiate or inter - district competitions (AIU recognized sports)conducted by the Universities in Kerala or recognized sports associations approved by the Kerala Sports Council.
Age Limit: Upper age limit to the course shall be 25 years as on the I July of the year of admission. Relaxation up to 5 years in age shall be given to those candidates who have participated in inter University tournaments or national level tournaments or in-service candidates (Physical Education Teachers) with minimum of 3 years experience and deputed by the appointing authority and SC/ST candidates.MHA
You should have passed in any Bachelor Degree of the University of Calicut or as equivalent to the Bachelor’s Degree. Programmes of other Universities or Institutions under 10+2+3 pattern under regular stream of study with not less than 50% marks in aggregate is eligible for admission.
You should have passed in Bachelor of Theatre Art(BTA) or any Degree approved by the University with Practical theatre experience . BTA Graduates will be given a weightage of 10% marks. Appear in entrance test conducted by university is mandatory for this programme.
Admission to the PG Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including PG programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be conducted through Centralized Admission Process as per the details given below.
The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) offers facility for online submission of application to various colleges and programmes. Students can opt up to 10 Colleges/programmes of their choice on priority basis from among the University Department/ affiliated colleges through simple online steps available in the website of CAP or official website of the university.
Selection Process of PG Programmes in University Teaching Departments (excluding PG programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be based on merit list.Master of Arts [MA] (Folklore Studies) , Master of Science [M.Sc] (Clinical Psychology) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Admission to these courses will be based on the marks secured in an entrance examination conducted by the University among the eligible candidates.
The selection process will be done on the basis of the entrance exam conducted by the university.

Physically Handicapped: For PG programmes, There will be 3 % of seats reserved for physically Handicapped candidates. The candidates having minimum 40% disability certified by the Medical Board.
Sports Quota: Out of every 20 seats in PG Courses one seat will be reserved for outstanding sports persons.
