KIIT is one of the forerunners of technical education situated in the state of Odisha. Currently, it offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of engineering and architecture.
The admission process for both UG and PG programs starts in December and continues till March. In addition to Indian students, it also admits International candidates. The application process for both Indian and International candidates is conducted in the online mode.
The selection for admission to B.Tech., B.Arch., and M.Tech. programs is based on the performance in the entrance exam. The institute offers B.Tech. program in 9 disciplines, whereas M.Tech. is offered in 15 disciplines. The institute commences its academic session from July-August every year.
Candidate must pass 10+2 examination in 2014, 2015 or must appear in 10+2 examination in 2016 are only eligible to apply for B.Tech
Candidate should studied regular full time formal education in their school/ college.
Candidate must pass 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together.
Candidate should be born on or after 01.07.1995.
Duration: 5 years
Candidate must pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized board by securing 60% aggregate marks with mathematics as a subject at the higher secondary level.
Candidate must pass National Aptitude test in architecture (NATA) conducted by the council of architecture (COA), New Delhi either in 2015 or 2016.
Candidate should be born on or after 01.07.1995.

General eligibility requirement for admission to M.Tech. programs is given below:
Candidate must possess B.E. or B.Tech. or equivalent Degree (e.g. AMIE, GRADE-IETE etc) with a First Class or equivalent CGPA from any recognized university.
Preference will be given to the GATE qualified candidates. Candidates with GATE score equal to or more than 400 will be given direct admission to M.Tech.

Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Civil Engineering from any recognized university.
Power System Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Power and Energy System
Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Electrical, Electronics & Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Tele-Comm., and Electronics & Instrumentation & Electronics & Communication from any recognized university.
Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Security
Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & TeleComm, and Electronics & Instrumentation from any recognized university.
Communication System Engineering
Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Electronics & Tele-Comm., Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Electrical or First Class in M.Sc. (Electronics) from a recognized university.
Manufacturing Process & System, Thermal Engineering, Machione Design
Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a recognized university.

The selection to all disciplines of B.Tech., M.Tech. and B.Arch. programs is trhrough an entrance test, KIITEE, conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. The entrance exam is conducted in multiple schedules in April.
The entrance test for B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses will comprise of 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In case of M.Tech. entrance exam, there will be 120 subject-specific questions. The entrace test is objective in nature.
15% and 7.5% of KIITEE-2017 seats will be reserved for Schedule Caste & Scheduled Tribe
3% of KIITEE-2017 will be reserved for PC candidates. (Only locomotory disabilities)
All the unfilled reserved seats will be converted to general category.
