KIIT B.Tech., B.Arch., and M.Tech. Admission 2020: Application Form, Placement, Fees

KIIT is one of the forerunners of technical education situated in the state of Odisha. Currently, KIIT offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of engineering and architecture.

KIIT free applications will be available until March 31. In addition to Indian students, it also admits International candidates. The application process for both Indian and International candidates is conducted in the online mode. Check KIIT Admission

The selection for admission to B.Tech., B.Arch., and M.Tech. programs is based on the performance in the KIIT Entrance Exam. The institute offers B.Tech. program in 9 disciplines, whereas M.Tech. is offered in 15 disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria


Duration: 4 years

  • Candidate must pass 10+2 examination or must appear in 10+2 examination are only eligible to apply for B.Tech
  • Candidate should have studied regular full-time formal education in their school/ college.
  • Candidate must pass 10+2 or its equivalent with at least 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together.
  • Candidate should be born on or after 01.07.1998.


Duration: 5 years

  • Candidate must pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized board by securing 60% aggregate marks with mathematics as a subject at the higher secondary level.
  • Candidate must pass National Aptitude test in architecture (NATA) conducted by the council of architecture (COA), New Delhi.
  • Candidate should be born on or after 01.07.1998.


Duration: 2 years

General eligibility requirement for admission to M.Tech. programs is given below:

  • Candidate must possess B.E. or B.Tech. or equivalent Degree (e.g. AMIE, GRADE-IETE etc.) with a First Class or equivalent CGPA from any recognized university.
  • Preference will be given to the GATE qualified candidates. Candidates with GATE score equal to or more than 400 will be given direct admission to M.Tech.

Construction Engineering & Management, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering,

  • Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first-class degree in Civil Engineering from any recognized university.

Power System Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Power and Energy System

  • Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first-class degree in Electrical, Electronics & Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Tele-Comm., and Electronics & Instrumentation & Electronics & Communication from any recognized university.

Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Information Security

  • Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first-class degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecomm, and Electronics & Instrumentation from any recognized university.

Communication System Engineering

  • Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Electronics & Tele-Comm., Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Electrical or First Class in M.Sc. (Electronics) from a recognized university.

Manufacturing Process & System, Thermal Engineering, Machine Design

  • Candidate must possess B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent first class degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering from a recognized university.

Selection Process

The selection to all disciplines of B.Tech., M.Tech. and B.Arch. programs is trhrough an entrance test, KIITEE, conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. The entrance exam is conducted in multiple schedules in April.

The entrance test for B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses will comprise of 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In case of M.Tech. entrance exam, there will be 120 subject-specific questions. The entrace test is objective in nature.

How to Apply

  • Candidates can obtain download or fill application form on the official website.
  • There is no application fee required for KIITEE.
  • Candidates are advised to dispatch the application form along with two passport size colour photographs and 10th pass certificate or mark sheet.

Counselling Process

  • Counselling of the candidated is purely on merit basis i.e. based on the performance in the entrance examination.
  • Counselling process will be stopped as soon as all the seats reserved for the KIITEE are filled up.
  • Candidate must bring original documents at the time of counselling for verification purpose.

Candidates will have to submit original enclosures at the time of counselling:

  • Admit Card
  • Rank Card
  • 10th Pass Certificate
  • 12th Mark sheet and Pass Certificate
  • B.Tech/ B.E/ MCA/ M.Sc. or Equivalent Degree Certificate (For M.Tech./LLM/Ph.D Candidates)
  • Relevant Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, clearly indicating the Reservation Criteria claimed by the candidate.
  • GATE Score Card (for M.Tech. GATE Qualified only)
  • School/College Leaving Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate


  • 15% and 7.5% of KIITEE-2019 seats will be reserved for Schedule Caste & Scheduled Tribe
  • 3% of KIITEE will be reserved for PC candidates. (Only locomotory disabilities)
  • All the unfilled reserved seats will be converted to general category.
