GBU B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Arch Admission 2020:Eligibility, Application Form, Entrance Exam

Gautam Buddha University (GBU)Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh offers admission to B.Tech, M.Tech and B.Arch. Selection will be based on the written tests conducted by GBU

University conducts GPTU (General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates) for admission to B.Tech. programs. Admission to B.Arch will be based on marks scored in NATA.

Admission in M.Tech will be based on GPT (General Proficiency Test for Post-graduates) and personal interview. Candidate passed 12th will be eligible for admission in B.Tech and B.Arch. Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech) holder can apply for M.Tech. 

Application form can be filled online through the official website of GBU (www.gbu.ac.in). Application fee of INR 1200/- (INR 600/- for SC/ST category) should be paid through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card.

Eligibility Criteria

BE/B.Tech

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from this university or any other recognized university 
  • Minimum 50% marks (general candidates) and 45% marks (SC/ST category) in aggregate
  • Must have passed separately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 40% marks

B.Arch

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognized university
  • Minimum 50% marks and 45% marks (for candidates belong to SC/ST category) must be secured in the qualifying examination
  • Candidate must pass separately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 40% marks along with NATA score securing minimum 40% marks.

ME/M.Tech

Course Wise Eligibility

BiotechnologyB.Tech. degree in Biotechnology or any other area of Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Life Science with minimum 50% marks for general candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates
Embedded SystemBE/B.Tech degree in electronics science/ electronics and communication/ information technology or M.Sc. in Electronics from this university or any other recognized university with minimum 50% marks and 45% marks for candidates who belong to SC/ST category candidates
Computer ScienceBE/B. Tech degree in computer science/ computer technology/ information technology/ electronics and communication or  M.Sc. in Computer Science or MCA from this university or any other recognized university with minimum 50% marks for General category candidates and 45% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category candidates
Software Engineering, Intelligent System and Robotics, Wireless Communication and Networks, VLSI DesignBE/B.Tech. degree in computer science/ computer technology/ information technology/ electronics and communication or MCA with minimum 50% marks and 45% marks (for candidates who belong to SC/ST category candidates)
Food Processing and TechnologyB.Tech. degree in food processing technology/ food engineering/ dairy engineering/ agriculture engineering/ biotechnology/ biochemical engineering with minimum 50% marks for general candidates and 45% marks for candidates who belong to SC/ST category candidates
Power Electronics and DriveB.Tech. degree in EE/EEE/EC Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 60% marks for general candidates and 55% marks for candidates who belong to SC/ST category candidates


How to Apply

Application form can be filled online through the official website of GBU.

  1. Visit: https://gbu.epravesh.com/
  2. Select course and tap “Apply”
  3. Register by entering name, email id and contact number
  4. Tap “Create Account”
  5. Enter required personal information
  6. Type academic details
  7. Upload scanned photograph and supporting documents
  8. Pay application fee of INR 1200/-(general category) and INR 600/-(SC/ST category)
  9. Click “Submit”
  10. Take a print out of the submitted application form for future reference

Admission Process

BE/B.Tech , ME/M.Tech & B.Arch

Admission to B.Tech, M.Tech and B.Arch will be based on entrance examinations.

  • CPTU will be for B.Tech: 
    • GPTU (General Proficiency Test) will have three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
    • While Chemistry and Physics section will have 30% weightage each, Mathematics will have 40% weightage.
  • GPT will be for M.Tech:
    • GPT or General Proficiency has three sections – Subject Awareness, English Proficiency, and General Knowledge.
    • Subject Awareness has the most weightage, i.e. 70%. The rest two sections carry 15% weightage each.
    • Subject Awareness section will have questions from the specialization to which a candidate has applied.
    • Biotechnology will have four sections- Advanced Biology, Chemistry, English Proficiency, and General Awareness.
    • Advanced Biology will have 50% weightage, Chemistry will have 20% weightage, and English Proficiency and General Awareness will have 15% weighatge each.
  • Admission to B.Arch will be based on the scores secured in NATA and the scores secured in the qualifying examination

Reservation Process

  • Seats will be reserved for the SC/ST/OBC category candidates as per the Uttar Pradesh Government rules and Gautam Buddha University rules.
  • Sportspersons with relevant certificates of participation in National/International level sports events may be given 5% relaxation in the respective qualifying examination.

University provide 18 hostels for boys and girls on single occupancy basis in the University
