TAFE QLD Cert. III Individual Disability Support

    8.7 /10

Great program and smooth career advancement options. Offered good opportunities and the admissions process was easy. No application fees, I just have to pay a low $450 for my course as I have already completed a Diploma and half a Bachelor of Education. This was the only college I applied for and I'm really happy.

    Exams :

There were no exams required. I wanted specifically to advance my career and work with youth with additional needs and my hopeful career goal is becoming an Early Childhood Intervention therapist. This course offers a great pathway program into disability support without numerous exams or set test scores.

    Internship :

Yes, I am required to complete 120 hours of work placement in a disabled care setting. It will entail about 15-20 days working in an internship of my choice. I had to apply for about six before I was accepted.

    Placement :

I have not yet undergone my placement but I know I have strong job opportunities following. I am unpaid work placement but have already been offered the chance to join the team following my 120 hours being up.

    Fees :

I am paying tuition fees of $450 total for my course. I pay online in fortnightly instalments of $30. There are currently no scholarships available for my course, however, there are plenty available for other courses through this college. There are also small student contribution fees which are all easily accessible to see on the website.

    Faculty :

So far it seems really positive. I am an online student and am happy with the faculty thus far. I receive online academic assistance and there are numerous student support services

    Hostel :

I currently live in private sharing accommodation. It is easier to manage however can be difficult unless you are working part-time or receiving extra assistance than Centrelink. It is all about finding a happy balance.
