Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete an undergraduate degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • The related fields include a UG degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • A minimum B average in the last two full years (or equivalent) of academic work. 
  • Students can also get admission by meeting one of the following criteria:
    • Completion of one economics/business course with a minimum grade of B.
    • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course offered by the Canadian Securities Institute (or an equivalent) or,
    • Two years of work experience in a business context dealing specifically with financial market/economic concepts.
  • Students with English as a second language have the opportunity to enroll in the MBA/Specialized Master’s Preparation Program prior to beginning their studies.
  • Students who have completed at least two years of full-time study at an accredited university in a country (or institution) where English is the official language of instruction are not required to submit an English proficiency test.

Work Experience:

Students do not required post-degree work experience, however, it is recommended to submit the work experience for a better chance of admission.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

  • Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Or, completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

VISA & Work Study


  • A Student VISA authorizes students to study in Canada legally.
  • International students will receive their Student VISA in the form of a paper document which will usually be attached to the passport at the Canadian port of entry.

  • All students are permitted to accept one Work-Study position only per program period.
  • Non-degree students (i.e. visiting students, students on a LOP) are not eligible for Work-Study.
  • Students are not eligible to hold a work-study position in the same term in which they are holding an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (or equivalent).
